welove2cruise2014 Posted November 3, 2015 #51 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Spotless ships? Then somebody needs to remove the pair of boots I found under my bed on my recent cruise. I don't know how long they were there. Going back in January and will be in the same cabin....curious if they are still there! Was on the Breakaway in January 2015. The designated smoking area in the glass enclosure was always dirty. Maybe none of the staff want to subject themselves to the disgusting stench, so no one is willing to clean the smoking area? I can't say I blame them.

I can't say I blame them. the smoking issue and the cleanliness of the cigar bar is very interesting to say the least. I know all ships are different, but our foster daughter and her partner who went on our cruise with us a few weeks ago, were amazed at how clean the bar was. I wouldn't know, I don't go in them. luvtheships Posted November 3, 2015 #53 Share Posted November 3, 2015 I would have to say that is pretty funny, but I hope you are not comparing that experience with how clean or unclean the ships are today. That was many years ago. We also got a kick out of what happened to us a few years ago. We had gotten some wine we really didn't like at all, after only one sip each we did our best to recork it and toss it in the trash. I guess our cabin steward thought it was an accident and pulled it our of the trash and put it on the desk. We throw it away a second time and the same thing: finally the third time we got the idea. Is there a ecological reason why you didn't just drain it in the sink? Just askin that's all
Jancruz Posted November 3, 2015 #54 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Because the pax that smoke make it a health hazard for non smokers A very large % of pax can't go near or walk thru or use the casino and on the BA that also means le bistro and other up charge places are out as well It's a dead horse btw smoking will be banned soon enough on ships Not that soon on NCL Jancruz1
maywell Posted November 3, 2015 #55 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Not that soon on NCLJancruz1 This. When smokers can't afford the carton of smokes for $100, then there's a possibility of ban on it. Til then, still have to put with them, even on the streets.... Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk

maywell Posted November 3, 2015 #57 Share Posted November 3, 2015 But it will eventually. For certain Not for another 10-20 years or until cigarette cartons/packs are for the filthy rich only. MaryLS Posted November 4, 2015 #60 Share Posted November 4, 2015 I was referring to an outdoor smoking area being unclean!
op1 Posted November 18, 2015 #61 Share Posted November 18, 2015 I suggest FDR start with customer service first. That appears to be a bigger issue. After 17 business days I still don't have a reply from NCL on a case I submitted. Not even a tough noogies note! SMH!!!

And that is a huge problem with NCL, not just since FDR took over. We have had situations, 3 I can think of where we had to write letters to NCL. All 3 were way before FDR. In 2 of the cases we wrote the letters after retuning from our cruise;neither time did we even get a response. I will say, whenever we have had a problem while still on the ship and asked to speak to someone the problem has been addressed and settled if possible. As loyal as I am to NCL this is one dept that annoys the heck out of me.
LadySpoilt Posted November 18, 2015 #63 Share Posted November 18, 2015 I hear you can smoke on the escape in Spice H20, that's where most smokers will be. Hope you enjoy the smell. I thought the only smoking at H20 was near the bar and a few tables there. I don't think the entire H20 is smoking.

I think letters, emails, comments, to NCL, go into a black hole......or the round filing cabinet. Customers deserve responses. Since I've yet to get a response, Ever, in the past....I try to get things corrected onboard. Cuz once you get off? good luck buddy boy.... Also, it depends on the issue and how the letter was written whether (1) they will respond and (2) how long it will take.
