Cruise'n 4 Fun Posted November 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2015 I am going on the Carnival Dream, leaving from New Orleans and ending in San Juan. According to Carnival I don't need a passport, but according to the CBP it is not a closed loop cruise since it doesnt end in the same port it began in, thus saying I need a passport. Has anyone done this cruise and flew back to the states from San Juan without a passport?
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2015 I believe Puerto Rico and the USVI are exempt from the open jaw passport regulation. EM
riffatsea Posted November 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2015 Puerto Rico is not a foreign country! It is considered a "commonwealth" of the USA. No passport is required to fly to it or home to the USA.
