Carnival_Brides Posted December 24, 2015 #26 Share Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) We received our "Milestone" letter a few months after sailing our 24th cruise with Carnival. We have decided to use it for an 11 nt. Hawaii repositioning cruise in April 2017 on the Legend (LOVE the Spirit Class ships) AND we also booked the 8 nt. Alaska cruise on the Legend right after it. Talk about a bucket list cruise - Hawaii and Alaska :) Glad to see CCL worked out the kinks they had a few years ago with people wanting to do the Hawaii/Alaska b2b. There were many unhappy customers with cancellations. That is quite the bucket list cruise--I'll be there one day. 2Shoes2Go Posted December 24, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 24, 2015 We received letters for our 25ths and 75ths, only. We've had to follow up, several times, for all the percentages to be applied. The letters for the 75ths stated "Congratulations on your 25th!" We have used the 25ths and 50ths. So, be your own advocate, and make the phone calls! It gets easier once you are able to call the Diamond Desk; they're very proficient. :)
cruises42 Posted December 25, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 25, 2015 My 24th cruise just taken (and it was 11 nights) and I'm only at 152 nights. I'll never reach Diamond. But then, I got Platinum the "easy" way. Started cruising in 2001 but only took mostly 5 night cruises (single mom and was paying for DD & I so had to watch the budget). After she was an adult, I started sailing solo, so couldn't afford too many longer cruises since I was still paying 200%. Lately, have been sailing 3 times a year, so the days are finally adding up. But once I get my Milestone, I just don't think I'll be on Carnival a lot. I want to broaden my cruising horizons. Just want that Milestone credit! Was so hoping for a Panama Canal transit to show up in 2017, but not seeing anything. :( So, since I already have #25 booked, I should receive something in the mail prior to May 1, just in case I want to use my OBC on that one. I'm a little surprised I haven't heard from my PVP, but #25 wasn't booked through him (did a TA group booking to get a couple of extra perks and be able to join in private excursions). We received our letter after several months after our 24th cruise. I think it's still too soon after the Bermuda cruise.

There were many unhappy customers with cancellations. That is quite the bucket list cruise--I'll be there one day. I'm not sure they did work out the kinks. Someone posted on a different thread that I may not be able to do this cruise, because it disembarks in Seattle. I didn't even think about that when I booked it. I'm not even sure why Carnival allowed me to book it after all the trouble they had before. Also, if they know this is a problem, why don't they just disembark the ship in Vancouver (where it starts) for this first cruise, problem solved. crusinpsychRN Posted December 26, 2015 #30 Share Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) I started cruising in 2003 and alternated between taking 3 cruises and 3 land vacations a year when I was working. Most of my cruises were 7 days length, now being retired, I'm starting to do B2B or 10+ day cruises. Is getting to Diamond in 13 years fast? Going from Platinum to Diamond so fast is what got me. I'v been cruising Carnival since 1980 and have a way to go before I hit Diamond! We should cruise together sometime with NCTribefan as solos. evandbob Posted December 26, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Going from Platinum to Diamond so fast is what got me. We should cruise together sometime. I think I turned platinum in 2009 or so. Since I retired, I can take longer cruises, so the days add up. I'll be diamond by November 2016 Vista cruise. I see you are on the Sunshine next April, while I'll be on the Conquest a few days earlier. We probably have some similar work experiences, judging from your screen name. I operated residential programs for people presenting with chemical dependency issues. One never knows when paths are crossed.

I'm a psych ARNP and will be working for about another 5 years. I need vacations to destress from it! Chem dep is a tough field.

And I have 167 days now.....with a 21 day B2B on the Glory Jan/Feb, 8 days on Conquest in Apr , and a 10 day Nov Vista booked, my diamond threshhold will get passed this year. I learned that employee wellness has to come first in any helping profession, so I used my 6 weeks vacation per year to recharge my batteries; but it's even better being retired. cruzingramma Posted February 7, 2016 #34 Share Posted February 7, 2016 My hubbie and I just completed our 24th cruise and we r researching cruises for Milestone. I understand the 25% OBC for each of us .....HOW do u "spend" all the OBC if u don't drink or buy lots of souvenirs ? Is there a way to redeem it by converting it to cash/use in casino? You can use it for gratuities, specialty restaurant, chef's table. Yes you can take out money via the slot machine. Set up a player's bank. Transfer funds from your sign and sail card. Play at least a few spins. Cash out. Go to the cashier and cash out. You've got the money and there is no fee. Congratulations!

Don't forget that you and your husband don't have to use your OBC on the same cruise. You can split them up. One of you can use it on one cruise, and the other can use it on a later cruise. Definitely, our cruise next month on the Splendor will be our Milestone cruise, but it didn't cost enough to use it for the OBC. We are doing an 11 nt. Hawaiian cruise in April 2017, we will us it then :)
Vettebuf Posted February 13, 2016 #39 Share Posted February 13, 2016 My 24th and 25th Carnival cruises are coming up so I searched and found this thread to get Milestone credit info. Then I went to the Carnival website and found more information so I decided to come back and post it here so you could see the 30 day rule and 18 month rule: Terms and Conditions (in fine print on the bottom of the Milestone letter) Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Line and/or Carnival Australia cruise booking, to be used as a credit on board a ship. The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any Carnival Corporation affiliate line. Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value. Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date and will be applied to the booking on the week prior to sailing. Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking. Booking must be made within 18 months of the date stated on the letter from Carnival's Milestone Desk; there is no specific sailing window. I never read the fine print and didn't realize there was a time limit. We have already made our booking, but I didn't notify the Mileston dept. that it would be our Milestone cruise and IT IS beyond the 18 months. That could have cost me more than $300, so thanks.
