kitegirl Posted November 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2015 We are going to Alaska in Sept 2016. In Ketchikan we are split as to which trip to do... 1 = Bering Sea tour 2 = Wilderness Exploration and crab feast Which one have you done and did you enjoy it. We both have mobility issues and I know both are accessible... but not sure which tour would be the best... Thank you for your help....
poss Posted November 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2015 Sorry you haven't gotten replies. Perhaps try doing a "search" for each of those excursions separately. I think you'll probably find a lot of specifics that may help you decide.
kitegirl Posted November 28, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 28, 2015 thank you POSS.. im surprised with so many views no one has been on either excursion to reply.....
poss Posted November 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2015 Another thing you might try is putting the names of the excursions in the title, rather than the more general title of your original. (We adored the Misty Fjords flight seeing from Ketchikan, but that's not what you're asking.) Good luck.
oaktreerb Posted November 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2015 When in September are you cruising and which cruise line/ship? We enjoyed the Bering Sea Fisherman's Tour. You will need to walk to the boat and be seated in the lower section. September is the end of the Alaska season and can be colder and wetter and this is an open boat fisherman demonstration. This is one of the best reviewed excursions but there is no enclosed viewing. Have you seen the Deadliest Catch on TV?

We have done the Bering Sea in both May and September....the May cruise was much better..saw lots of eagles...the (early) September one we only saw 1-2 eagles....very disappointed....even though we love this excursion. Although not enclosed, most of the viewing area is covered and there are space heaters in the ceiling to provide warmth to the viewing area. I have photographed lots of eagles in both September as well as in May.
