I saw this on Facebook and I wanted to see if anyone onboard could confirm it.

Oh my goodness. Just been reading on a site that reports happening at sea that after a fight on Carnival Splendour there was a family fight. Apparently husband and wife started throwing drink over each other and then throwing plates in MDR then her brothers got involved. apparently husband got stabbed repeatedly then then he slit the throat of one brother who died. This happened 24/25 November. Some Thanksgiving cruise that was and report says many passengers and crew hiding under tables terrified. I know I would have been. Never been on a Carnival itself cruise and don't want to. What is wrong with these people. ITS A HOLIDAY so enjoy. Don't go if you dislike each other. So sad for family and also those who witnessed this. What are we human beings coming to.

I read that there was a fight but no one died!

The Splendor is jinxed. Her twin sister, the Concordia is calling.

Sailed on the Splendor back in Sept. Of all of the Carnival ships, That is one ship that I did not like. Not that the ship had anything to do with the incident.

There is an eyewitness telling the story on FB. No one died and all the guests involved have been escorted off the ship in St. Thomas.

So, less dramatic than the rumors.

That was Round 1. Round 2 to begin in front of a divorce judge.

Hahaha. I was just kidding. We actually liked the Splendor. We were on her for 15 days to Hawaii out of Long Beach.

LOVED the aft section......NO KIDS ALLOWED. Pool...hot tubs.....bar.....deli...etc.

Have a great time...:)

I was onboard and heard lots of different stories about what happened. Crew would only admit to a family fight during the 8:15 set dining time. We were told that yes someone was injured but did not die from the injuries. They did confirm the group was sent off in St Thomas. We had a great time, the ship was beautiful, and the crew was awesome!

I was onboard. it was a fantastic cruise. I heard about the fight and talked to our waiter about it. He confirmed that it occurred the first sea day...at dinner and involved one family. Broken glass was used to stab one of the family members. No one said anything about a fatality. I guess it would have been traumatic to have to watch this take place but for those of us who didn't it did not affect our trip.

Well, I can't call myself an eyewitness as we were directly under the table that was involved. Maybe, an under witness 😱😱😱. Halfway into dinner I heard several loud popping sounds, and couldn't figure out what was making the noise. As I turned to my friends to see if they heard it a woman at the table next to us screamed, saying he is "going over". We were at a booth directly under the upper section with the railing above their table. Loud sounds continued for several minutes followed by at least 50 people exiting the dining room. At least two tables were overturned and many dishes and glasses were broken. One gentleman ( using the term loosely) was bleeding from a head wound and security was everywhere. A friend was next to the stateroom where 3-4 women were kept with a guard for the next two days. The men were kept in a holding cell and all were removed in handcuffs in St Thomas two days later. There were several children who witnessed the event and were seen crying at the entrance of the dining room.

Now, before anyone flames me, I am just stating what I observed. I went upstairs to see if our other friends were alright. This is the first altercation I have ever witnessed on many cruises but after this event I saw security everywhere. I have never even seen security on a cruise ship except at the disco late at night. Not this time. There were three every night at the Dive in Movies, in the Lido buffet and by the pool, clearly in sight, all over the ship. Fun times😱

I was on the Splendor out of Norfolk in October and encountered numerous rude and disorderly people.

Carnival seems to be having bad luck with awful people booking the Splendor! I feel bad for the people who had their meal interrupted by this, especially children who may have been frightened.

I will note that in all my other Carnival cruises I have not encountered any "problem" passengers.
