Do you have to sleep on the ship during an overnight?

We are overnighting in 2 ports. Is there any kind of curfew, or can we not come back to the ship until it is time to leave the next day (we have friends in one of the ports we want to visit).

 

If it's ok, do we have to tell them ahead of time? This is a domestic port.

On an overnight you can come and go as you please. If you do not want to spend the night on the ship it's not a problem.

No bed checks on overnight ports. ;) The gangway is open 24/7, and you may come and go, as you wish. You just have to be back onboard before the designated sail-away time! :cool:

It will be ok, no bed check on ship. Just make sure you double- or even triple-check when the ship leaves. You do not want to miss the ship and get stuck on the pier, even though it's with friends.

There are some foreign ports that require different visas if you overnight off the ship as they consider it a land trip. Celebrity generally takes care of visas for most ports and nationalities so just let them know. There is sometimes an additional fee (for the different visa, celebrity has done a great job with inexpensive visas when we've needed them (in Asia).

I just didn't know if your seapass card had to clang in before a certain hour each day. never had an overnight stop before. And didn't realize the gangway would be open 24/7.

 

What if it were a tender port? do they run tenders 24/7?

Absolutely not...we stayed at hotels in Bangkok, Saigon and Hanoi on last year's asian B2B's.
