Carol28 Posted December 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Friends just sailed the Equinox and shared there were not area to sit inside and enjoy an outside view of the ocean. This was upsetting as there were rainy sea days. They also commented that only the buffet area had this type of seating space and so people would not leave the area when they were done. The Silhouette is the sister ship. Is this description accurate? We sail HAL on which there are extensive public spaces to gaze at the water inside the ship. kenevenpar Posted December 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2015 There are spaces. Cabins (except insides), several lounges, Persian Spa, Solarium, GYM, Al Bacio area, and I'm sure I'm missing some.
jelayne Posted December 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2015 The Sky Lounge is available most of the time-occasionally closed for a function. The Solarium has nice views, some areas around the pool area covered so you would be sheltered from rain. The Martini Bar has windows with seating and normally doesn't open until 4 so have often sat their in the early afternoon to read. The Passport bar also has windows you can sit & look out. If you work-out there are good views from the fitness center. Lots of places to sit and watch the ocean.
az_tchr Posted December 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2015 People sit in the buffet area because there are lots of tables and many in off hours play cards and groups sit and chat. Every deck has lots of places to look out as the previous poster stated. We like the Martini Bar area to look out and play cards early in the day. Very quiet. richsea Posted December 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) I think the best places to sit & enjoy the sea views on S class ships are Sky Lounge, with panoramic views of the bow/ocean (somewhat less on Reflection due to the suites), & Cafe Bacio. Then there is all of the seating port & starboard the entire length of the pool, the 2 hot tubs in the solarium pools which abut the port & starboard floor to ceiling glass. You also have the fantastic views at the Sunset & Oceanview bars, where you can watch the wake while sipping a cocktail. All have inside seating. I may have left out some other places. I think your friends cruised with their eyes closed! Edited December 12, 2015 by richsea

Hi Carol, I just got off Silhouette 2 weeks ago. Like others have said, there are many areas to sit inside and look outside to see the ocean. Enjoy your cruise on the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette! MustBCruzn Posted December 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 13, 2015 One of my favorite places to sit and people watch and/or ocean watch is Cafe al Bacio...with a latte and a chocolate ganache pastry. :D
