MIA Hilton to POM Taxi questions

We have reservations at the Hilton Garden in (Cruise and park package). They have a shuttle, but I think I want to arrive earlier via taxi.

 

Two questions -

1 - Does anyone know the approximate cost?

2 - Are taxis cash only or can you use a card? (I'm from a smallish town and have never actually taken a taxi in the US, only on my cruise vacations - LOL!)

Credit cards should work, but sometimes the driver will claim that the machine is broken in order to avoid the fees. Have a good cruise.

As mentioned sometimes the driver claims they don't work but I do believe sometimes they truly do not work.

 

Just my 2 cents and I have nothing to back this up but I would not use a credit card in a Miami taxi.

 

If this was me I would call the hotel and they should know the approximate cost for the taxi. It shouldn't be much and I would go the route of the taxi.

Is that $30 per person or per cab?

Whatever the price it is per taxi regardless of how many people are in the taxi.

In most of the world cab fares are for the cab - 1 passenger or 4+ sharing, it does not matter.

 

Shared shuttles are great if you are a solo because they charge per person rates.

Thanks for the information. There are 3 of us going, so I think we'll go early and take a cab.:)
