ddloml Posted December 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2015 I just got off of Carnival Dream, and the trick of getting cash from your casino account has been closed. You can still download money from your ship account to a slot machine. However, if you try to get the cash from the cage out of your casino account, they will charge the 3% fee. The only time the fee is not charged is when you close the casino account. Many people would load the casino account at a slot machine and then cash out in order to get cash, avoiding the ATM fees. Purchasing chips at a table game always involved a 3% fee as well.
LaCal Posted December 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Glad on my next cruise it's a premier casino cruise and the 3% Fees are totally waived I think way to many people had been doing the slot machine loophole for years and finally Carnival put their foot down The question I have though is say you sit down and get $200 on your card and play $50 in a slot machine....can you cash out the remaining $150 without the 3% fee? Or is there just a AUTOMATIC 3% fee for every time $$$ is put on your card at slots like at the tables Edited December 14, 2015 by LaCal
bambidrummer Posted December 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2015 That stinks! I am guilty of getting cash from the machine to play at the table. Now I'll have to carryon a lot more cash:(
muggo11 Posted January 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2016 I always get a line of credit before sailing. No fees and I don't have to carry cash. Takes a couple of weeks but pretty easy. You can write a check to pay off the marker and they don't cash it until 30 days after the ship docks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
cb at sea Posted January 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Cash is the only way to gamble, IMO....anytime you pay a "fee" to access your own funds, you've already lost.
Capo Capitan Posted January 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2016 You used to be able to do cash withdrawals from the self-service kiosks - no fee? Is that still true?
LaCal Posted January 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2016 You can still load up cash on the slots and cash it out.....You just Have to play a little slots with it before you do....if you just load the cash n try cashing it out it'll actually lock up your card and then you have to ask the casino host or manager to unlock it
GabbyCooks Posted January 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 31, 2016 We were on the Dream over New Years and cashed out many times without a fee. Like the poster above said, you have to play a little bit though.
Kcruiser2014 Posted March 23, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Any more data points on this? I have always used the casino loophole to pull out cash in the past. Sailing in 12 days, so I need to figure it out before I leave.
bambidrummer Posted May 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Anyone off a Carnival ship recently? How is the cashout being handled now? Cruising in about 30 days.
Kcruiser2014 Posted May 7, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) I played. But I cashed a good amount of my card nearly every day. I had 2K in gift cards applied to my S &S account that I bought for 10% off, so it worked out great. This was on Liberty April 4th cruise. Kcruiser2014 Posted May 10, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Though AARP when they have them. Do a quick search here and there are a few threads regarding them and Verizon rewards.
clcjdn Posted May 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 11, 2016 When I looked at my Verizon Wireless rewards earlier this week they had the $500 Carnival gift cards listed for $450 plus points. You can then load these gift cards onto your account through the onboard kiosks, which is what we did last time we were on a Carnival ship. Worked quite well. They used to have other denominations, not sure if they are just sold out, or if they changed to only the $500.

DallasGuy75219 Posted May 12, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 12, 2016 The Carnival gift cards on Verizon always sell out quickly, regardless of what denomination is available at any particular time.
eeyoreme Posted May 12, 2016 #17 Share Posted May 12, 2016 On the April 30, 2016, cruise on the Carnival Triumph, I loaded $500 (charged to my Sail & Sign account) into my player bank at a slot machine. A message appeared that I needed 500 points before I was allowed to cash-out. I don't know if this point value is across the board or based on the dollar amount I charged. If you have accesss to Citi Easy deals they have the $100 and $500 cards available with the same 10% discount but you have to pay with a Citi card.
