Carnival Left my XMas Stocking Empty

I learned from these boards to visit my Carnival VIFP page often to snare deals offered there, usually before an email alert goes out. I've gotten a great Vista offer and several "casino" reduced fares that way.

Throughout December, I had 3 offers in my VIFP folder until Christmas Eve, when those offers were removed and replaced by NOTHING. Christmas Day, NOTHING. Today, day after Christmas, NO OFFERS.

I'm just hoping that New Year's will bring a special round of new, improved, and special fares.....is everyone's VIFP folder void of offers like mine is now?

Nothing here either and previous offers were taken off the board. I am not changing loyalties, since I am platinum,, but NCL had some great offers for January out of Port Canaveral. I sail solo and they had no solo supplement on 7 day cruise. Probably trying to lure customers with being new to PC and the competition. Although mixed reviews on the boat I figure it can't be any worse then sailing on Fascination or Sensation. I am booked. Carnival has to start making some good offers.

NCL also had solo studios out of NY for 14 days this January priced @ $1099 and $1299 on the fairly new Breakaway - but I was already booked on the Carnival Glory B2B Jan 23 to Feb 13.

We took advantage of a Casino Select offer , we are taking son to Coz on his 14th birthday. I had the Casino Select offer, a casino offer and 2 past guest offers and then last week BOOM ..nothing. Today still NOTHING. I check about every 2 days.

Thought it was just my stocking that was empty! I figured that I wasn't getting any offers because we are booked on a Premier cruise in January but maybe that is not the case. Let's all keep our fingers crossed and wish that the New Year will bring some great offers!:)

Mine had an offer in it and after I booked our very first cruise, not using that offer, it went away never to be seen again.

Thank you very much for this post as it prompted me to go check my offers! There was a new offer in my account for Early Saver - Exclusive VIP Offer which was $24.75 less than the rate I had booked and also will give me an additional $25 in OBC. It looks like the offer just started today.

Thanks for the info! I am going to run right over to NCL and see what I can get! We were on a cruise once and talked to a lady from NCL Sun (I think) it was sailing out of Tampa in 14. She loved the ship so much it made me consider it. It was one of the smaller ships and she was a frequent cruiser.

Last year we got such good prices in Nov and early DEC we did 2 B2B. (DH first year retired!) This year nothing any where near that. I read an article that CCL CEO said prices were going to increase and they sure did! I just made platinum but the bottom line is the initial cost, I would rather go more frequently and not have the perks.

I've never had any offers there either. Except maybe a past guest 2 category upgrade. Woohoo  I've always had cruises booked in the past. After my cruise next month, I'm not booking anything and see if I get any offers then. If not, I will just look for the best price I can get when I want to go, and book closer to cruise date.

We are two days off the Sunshine. I was surprised by two things about the casino. ONE..I won a little. Enough to play on their money some, and bring some of my

"stash" allotted to slot playing per day.........HOME. I paid my dog out of the vet with it. LOVED that. Thank you Carnival.

I sat beside a woman who won $1,400. She was older. Told me she had been playing that machine all day. I have never sat beside someone who made a big win before

Plenty of "'good"' slots ( the penny ones I like to play. I grew up poor and remain stingy even in the Casino. NOT with loved ones. I did not hit my Husband when he did very well at the roulette tables.

We paid for that cruise on a percent off...........we don't get the free ones. but UPGRADES were in that offer...............and we had a Four F cabin on Deck Three that we liked a lot. For a Christmas cruise.........price was awesome.

NO OFFERS now. NONE for months.

BUT we had a chance to get a great rate on a balcony on Freedom of the Seas..when a TA I used was getting rid of overbooked balcony's for a cruise in Sept. A midship balcony for less than an inside usually costs. First time for us on RCI. Husband happy as he likes Port Canaveral. takes us 3 hours to drive there.

Then PRINCESS made us an offer. 30% of the lowest fare, free gratuities, free dinner in the steak house on a Panama Canal Cruise ( casino) for next December. Husband has to drive ( and I drive too) to Ft. Lauderdale. He grumps but enjoys Princess.

So I don't think I could afford any more cruises even if they were offered. The one from Princess..........saved us over $1200.00 It is on the Coral Princess. Never been on it but we are Platinum on Princess too. Looking forward to seeing Costa Rica again. The New Panama Canal. Hope the new lock is open.

Sunshine Casino..........................not crowded. slots paid better. people were older. Very nice. I enjoyed going there, even though we did a lot of other stuff . Husband spent LOTS of time there. Casino staff ..........great. Friendly. Always at your elbow. ( I don't drink. But I do like Diet Cokes)

I did not really even think about it............but if we had received a casino offer ( and again...we get the % off and some cash....not the premier or free ones) We would probably have booked one for Spring Break this year.

We did not. So we are taking our Five year old Grandchild to The House of the Mouse for five days. Which will cost more than the cruise, but she is our only grandchild..........and she is enchanted with Mulan. The Chinese Disney Princess. Hope someone is dressed like her

We would probably have taken my daughter and her family with us. ( Only child--only grandchild--only son in law.............and we won the SIL lotto. Great father. makes us enjoy doing things for them. LUCKY US!)

So.........the lack of an offer...sent us to another place, but they don't need our business. CARNIVAL is BOOMING. Good for cruising. I HOPE they put the snacks back on the bars. I miss those peanuts or chips. I spend more money than you can imagine on...............Diet Cokes. So I am at bars a bit making purchases.

It is what it is.

As my PVP explained to me: There are very few "behind the scenes" people working through the holidays. She stated to me there is a skeleton crew working. So I would not expect any new offers until after the majority of people return to work after the holidays.

My offers recently are pretty much like you described. I had a couple that expired a couple weeks ago, and nothing new has appeared since then.

I believe it. My PVP is working from home this week. But you would think that since they were able to put out this latest "sale" that they could also go ahead and post the next round of Casino Offers.

Hurry up, Carnival. I'm itching to get back on a ship. Quite frankly at the prices that you want, I am super tempted to go back to Celebrity unless I get at least something off the normal fare.

Don't get me wrong I love Carnival - at the prices that they have been offering the past few years. That's one of the main reasons I came back to the brand. However, I'm not willing to pay more for less. Did you ever think that the reason your ships are sailing full is BECAUSE of the prices you have been offering? With all things being equal or slightly more at the competition, I think you will find the majority of the clientele will move elsewhere either for the first time or once again. Brand loyalists excepted. Then the vicious cycle will start all over. You will be forced to cut amenities and prices to bring customers back, etc.

My point: BRING ON THE CASINO RATES! A bunch of us are waiting to book. If you wait too long, you might not see us again for awhile. Thanks :)
