floridalover5623 Posted December 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2015 The first formal night.
Oxo Posted December 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Not what it use to be. It was later at night and the MDR staff would join in and dance. Really minimal now. The MD used to set it up, now just crew members.

Kamloops50 Posted December 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I've always see the Maitre'd or hotel manager for the Champagne Waterfall.
CruiserBruce Posted December 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I've always see the Maitre'd or hotel manager for the Champagne Waterfall. On our Dawn Princess cruise in August, the Captain and the HM spoke at the champagne waterfall, and the Maitre'd did the pics with guests while pouring. It was pretty nicely done. Plenty of other staff there

Oxo Posted December 27, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I've always see the Maitre'd or hotel manager for the Champagne Waterfall. Were you on the Regal in Nov and Dec? Just saying what we saw on those 2 cruises. The MD did not build it.
Pmorton3360 Posted December 28, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Does the captain still have a speech at least? I know on our last cruise it was earlier than years before.

The waterfall is part on the Captain's reception. It also is the first formal night. Edited December 28, 2015 by Kamloops50

The first formal and it's just another way for them to sell more pictures of you hold the bottle with the Matre d.

Which you are forced to pose for, and buy, correct? Princess is in the cruise business to make money, remember? If they aren't profitable, they aren't going to be selling any more cruises... Actually there weren't as many people lining up for pouring on our last few cruises as there have been in the past. Maybe it's getting to be an old thing for many. bikevegas Posted December 28, 2015 #16 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Agree with CruiserBruce, cruise line doesn't do this for free! Like any company they are in it to make money. If you don't want a service they offer, dont buy it!
