I have read numerous postings from 2012 and prior about bad smells of sewage on the Carnival Dream. I have not located any recent ones and was wondering if this is still an issue on that ship? Thanks for any help, as I am trying to decide on our first cruise.

Three, almost four, years is a long time for any issue to go untreated either on a ship or on land. That's like saying three years ago kids hung out on the corner of A and B street. Are they still there? My toilet backed up 2-1/2 years ago. Should I still call a plumber?

Trust me, if this was still a problem after 4 years it would be blasted over every cruise board there was and I'm sure some sleazy lawyer or uninformed news crew would be talking about it over and over again.

In most cases where people complain about sewage smells, the cause is gray water in the shower/floor drain in the bathroom. If that happens, poor a bucket or 2 of fresh water down the drain and usually the smell goes away. This is very common on all cruise ships, not just the Dream.

You will get that "sewage smell" on almost every ship at some time or another....sometimes, it's fleeting...sometimes, it's more annoying. Every ship we've sailed has had this issue at least intermittently......I think it has to do with how the ship's drains work.....and the fact that the sewage and gray water are not flushed into a city system, like a hotel would be...
