Those booked in a Suite on Oasis/Quantam Class w/new Royal Suite Class Perks

Recommended Posts

I'm curious of those booked in a "Suite" on Oasis/Quantam Class with sailings beginning May 16' with the new Royal Suite rollout of ammenities in place...

What's the best deal you've gotten on your cabin and when's it booked for? Whether it be in Star, Sky, or Sea Class.

We've booked our first ever "Suite" on Harmony Jan 7, 2017, prior to when the new suite program rolled out, and felt then we got an ok deal for a suite, of course there are 6 of 8 people contributing to cost of the suite (hoping we can get two more people :eek since it sleeps 8). The cost is more than I usually do for myself, actually almost double for a week, but is a special occasion cruise. Now with the new ammenities feels like a really GREAT deal! We have an A2 2- bedroom Aquatheatre Suite on deck 9 at booking in April was $14,271 and have had two price drops since of $3600 total, putting us at $10671, which is just over $1300 a person. Hoping for another price drop, but not banking on it.

Also, I have seen where many of us are getting very conflicting information from Royal agents on who gets what in suites etc., with the new rollout, which for me has been very frustrating. I woke up to reading a thread yesterday that a poster was told only 1st & 2nd guests got certain ammenities in Star Class, which was very different than I was told, so I was a bit stressed, but after almost 4 hours yesterday, got that all cleared up... Have learned to get everything in writing for sure....

Is it just me that thinks I got a great deal on a suite? If it is a good deal, is it because will be a brand new ship and they gave great deals on those? Or because we booked 21 months out? Wondering if it is like this when Royal releases a new ship... I might be first in line when Oasis 4 comes out :D. However I think it's going to Europe.

That is a nice deal, especially with everyone sharing the costs. It is almost as much as a regular balcony for 2 people. Can you elaborate on the amenities for the 3/4/5/guests? We have 4 girls sharing a CL in May and hope they are all eligible for the perks.

All guests in suite get same ammenities, ammenities depend on which class they are in. CL-crown loft is in sky class. I wonder what kind of deal they got? Are they on Quantam or Hamony?

We are on Oasis and am paying about $1200 per person. So the Aqua theater suite with that many people is a great deal.

We booked an A3 (Deck 11) for Feb 2017 the first part of June during the 30/30/30... In late June I got a price reduction and $200.00 OBC added.

(+ the OBC from my TA)

I just checked and deck 14 is available for 2400, more than I booked for... the extra $100 OBC is not worth changing

In late June I also booked a CP Balcony for my stepson & his gf... I had the option to book an A1/A2 at a reasonable price but the gf didn't want to share the suite with us  My DH and I were going to cover the cost between the CPB and the suite....

Since the roll-out of amenities of course they want to share the suite but none have been available. RCI told me 1 was available for the dates yadda yadda and quoted me 18k!! He then corrected himself and said it would be 11-12k but none were available. So where did he get his pricing? Either way I was not going to pay that price for a week!!:eek:

so in answer to your question, Yes, you got a great deal!!

Now a question for you, You stated "hoping we can get two more people  since it sleeps 8". When you booked the 6 did you add in dummy names for the 2 other people? If No, They will most likely reprice the suite to current prices which will be MUCH higher IF they even can add 2 people since the Aft books up quickly and they might not have lifeboat space available...

Do you mind sharing how much you paid for your A3, what ahip? And for how many people? Is that a 1 bedroom aquatheatre suite?

I need to find a good TA, have not had good luck with that yet...

Yea, once the new rollouts surfaced i felt like we hit the jackpot! I was doing the happy dance, still doing it :)!

To answer your question, yes we booked dummy names, learned that trick long time ago, so we are locked in! Hopeful we can find a couple of people, to keep the per person rate down..... the ultimate beverage package alone is i think 450 a person that we get, most are over 21 so thats awesome! Gratuities now included that was $900 in savings... never really spent the extra on specialty restaurants and now we can go to all as many times as we want..... im gonna let myself be pampered this week may not happen twice in a lifetime!

Gotta say I am a bit jealous!! But on the flip-side we have semi privacy that we wouldn't have had (I bet my stepson & gf will use & abuse our deck tho!!)

I told my DH when we booked I should add 2 dummy names in (the A2 was available for 4 people at that time) just in case my DS and BiL or my stepson and gf changed their mind. my DH said it is their loss if they aren't interested... and since this wasn't the "family cruise" I didn't push for it *still kicking myself* LOL

It was just over $7700 for 4 people at that time!! When checked in July, still before the roll-out of the amenities, it jumped up to 10k and change.

To answer you, when first booked it was 5300 and change after the reduction it was just under 5k with 200 OBC + 600 OBC from our TA!!

Well, there won't be much privacy , but it is a "family cruise" never been on oasis class I want to try everything. At the same time never having had a balcony over 40 sqft and now have almost 700sqft... I would just love to be there majority of the time.... I could hang out on the balcony or hours... I'm envisioning breakfast on the balcony every morning, with a mimosa, and my royal genie telling me breakfast awaits me ;) lol..... I have to wait a whole year though...miss impatient.... The best of all worlds.... All my kids will be with me, on an amazing ship with royal treatment with an awesome deck overlooking the sea. I love the water!

We have A1 AS (8330) for 2 people on Harmony in Feb 2017. Total cost, before taxes and grats using a Club Royale discount is $6198.00. I know that they normally withhold these 2 BR AS for a minimum number of people (I think it's usually 4 ? Not sure...) but for some reason for several days they had these big suites out in the open in general inventory (anyone could book) and we snatched one.

Our original cruise on Harmony was a b2b out of Rome to Barcelona and then the TA from Barcelona to FL but at that time they weren't offering any casino rate so we ended up cancelling that and going with the MUCH better deal in Feb 2017 that did offer (what turned out to be a 44% discount off the full price) casino rates. No OBC but who cares ???

I am very happy to hear that the listed amenities apply to all persons in the suite (even though we only have 2 people this time...some day I expect we might have more than 2 on a different cruise). Does that mean that the Thermal Spa package is a full week of access to the thermal spa for both people any time ? How about the specialty dining ? ...any restaurant anywhere, any time for both people ? ...and the fitness class ? One day/class, one person ?

I'm still very unclear about how some of these amenities are being applied.

Wow... All that privacy for just the two of you, AWESOME! I wanted on deck 8, even bigger deck :D, but decided we would be very happy with deck 9. I suspect many pictures will surface by then on that cabin, but would be happy to share any and all info on return... Never know on cruise critic when you can pick up a useful tidbit of information you didn't know. Seems I'm always learning something new!

The only thing I think to make this cruise even better is a b2b or b2b2b :D.... Maybe someday!

About the thermal spa..... I'm actually waiting on that clarification, was suppose to be 7 day pass I if in Star class, however when clarifying other information from higher up was told it was just a 1 day pass, something seems amiss about that considering sky class gets a 1 day pass... As soon as I know I'll post in on here. Specialty dining is for all people, anytime of day, however many times a day you would like, no limitations again for star class. They are working out details of the fitness class, so I can't answer that yet either, but I have a go to guy that's been very helpful as I was getting to many varying answers from Royal agents, went up the chain a bit and a bit more and now I go to that person only for all questions. My biggest questions were answered, which were about specialty dining, gratuities, ultimate beverage package and Internet....

I figure we can all learn together and open discussion about the new ammenities here.... What a great place to do that... Hope my answered have helped.

Which itinerary are you on?

I think you should stick to having only 6 people in the room.

You will have 1 master room and a small inside room. The other 2 people will have to sleep in the living room. It is not a lot of room so 2 people in that area would be fine.

Enjoy your trip...

The cabin is over 700 sqft, 6 of us have stayed in 2-150 sqft rooms I don't think 8 will be to cramped... The extra bedroom will have adult kids in... I think we would enjoy any extra money if we have for an excursion or two. I don't expect my adult kids to be hanging out in the cabin to much actually on an oasis class ship...

We will definitely enjoy!

You have to call Royal directly, or use a travel agent to book a stateroom that is restricted to 5 or more guests.

This is why I hate the new website. It does not even show you those rooms that can hold that many. You have to call directly or go through a TA.

If you pit in 4 adults and 3 children- the website always tells me to call.

You really have to look at each ships staterooms to know what kind of multi-room suites are available.

Another thing i love about the NCL website-it will show you all multi room suites available and give you a price for up to 6 people!. No need to call!!

May I ask how you figured out the price reductions? Did you check online or call each time? We have a Royal family suite on the Anthem for June 2016. We booked in May 2015 and the price has not dropped at all, actually has increased quite a bit

Thanks

I use a TA and she checks for me. For me, since they are not easy to check yourself, I make sure I'm happy with the price I booked and think of it as a bonus if my TA calls me. I don't have the time nor desire to keep calling to see!! That's just me!!

My DH checks RCI website daily as a potential booking.

I have two sites that show cabin availability that alert me of a price change.

We booked our upcoming August Allure cruise on our last Oasis sailing and so far have gotten almost $2200 price reductions, having shown up on my site first.

Since then the price has gone up and stayed there.

Good luck.

This is our first Oasis Class too. I don't even know if I will want to do any of the slides, but that and the great prices I was seeing back in June, we decided to 'take the plunge'.

We were torn between a GS, OS, ATS and a loft. My husband was pushing for the OS and I wanted the ATS :D

My 2 regrets when I booked... Not getting the 2 bd ATS and not booking a b2b (other leg would have been in a GS, I think)

I just checked until there where no more rooms available in the category I booked for, plus my TA checks and I am still looking for a reasonable priced suite for a b2b!!

If my daughter wasn't already missing some school , and everybody had vacation time in our part to do a b2b, AND I was financially capable I would of loved to of done the New Years cruise just before.....its a little different when you have to think about everyone's schedules, finances....
