flatlander321 Posted January 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2016 With the demand for summer rental cars in Juneau and Skagway, what is best to make sure you actually get a reserved car for the day? Both are with Avis which does not require a CC to make the reservation.
AKStafford Posted January 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2016 I would suggest calling Avis Alaska directly: http://www.avisalaska.com/ (907) 789-9450
Rare Coral Posted January 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2016 Up until the past 10 years or so, rental cars never needed a credit card to hold them. I haven't rented cars recently but I remember reading about the change and how surprised people were with the change.
Budget Queen Posted January 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2016 Key is to pick up your car on time. Skagway is more limited than Juneau. I too would suggest, you call the local offices just prior to arriving and confirm the reservation.

The only ones that do are if the company offers a discount for prepaying or for "luxury" cars.
donaldsc Posted January 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 1, 2016 Could you possibly prepay for the car. DON
