Juneau before Excursion

We have about 2.5 hours before our excursion in Juneau (gold panning, salmon bake). Any suggestions on what we might be able to do in that time?

If the weather is clear, perhaps a ride up the tram? If close to lunch, a pitstop at the crab shack to feed. If near the town, a walk through the shops? One thing I did was collect the pieces of the diamond international charms.

Walk up the hill to the Russian Orthodox Church, and then wander around the shops, or as suggested take the tram.

The website of the Juneau Empire (http://www.juneauempire.com), the newspaper in our capital, has a great Juneau visitor's guide. I haven't checked lately so the 2015 version still may be the one posted. In addition to articles regarding the main visitor attractions the business ads are a great source of information (i.e., where to find free wi-fi and so forth).
