Regal - Smoking area

Thanks for the info on where you can smoke.

I just wish the non-Smokes would keep their 2 cents to themselves, no one ask for your opinions.

just ask where they could smoke. If you don’t like to smell it, don’t go in the few small areas that smokers can go!

Here are my "two cents".

1. Non-smokers have to breathe the air smokers crapped up and then experience the residue left behind like in the casino, where we hold our collective breaths in passing through (when we can't avoid it). Sadly, there are still too many (more than zero) locations on the planet left where people can light up.

2. Non-smokers have to pay for all the extra medical costs for people who insist on poisoning themselves. You are welcome.

1. I won't even attempt to answer your rant.

2. The tax take from tobacco far outweighs the medical costs - whether the government applies that extra tax take to medical is quite another question.

Why do you think governments the world over have not banned tobacco if it costs them that much?

It's all about dollars - hence why HAL adopts the position they do - they see a commercial advantage (albeit probably temporary).

NO you won't.

Did too!

Even though the Patter said cigars and pipes were relegated to the ships morgue (aka Churchills) I observed several cigar smokers and a couple of pipe smokers on the smoking deck. It was actually the least windy pool area of the ship and was very pleasant. I noticed no smoke smell except when smoking myself it sitting next to a smoker.

We just returned from a long cruise on the Royal. My dh was banned from smoking cigars ondeck 17 aft. He argued that he smoked them there last year on the Regal. Thet ddidn't care. His futile attempts with the front desk and Captain Circle host resulted in the same answer...no cigar smoking is allowed outside, anywhere, on any Princess ship. News to us!

Ninety five percent of the ship is non-smoking. If you don't like the smoking in the casino, don't go in there. Smokers do not congregate in the casino and not gamble, if fact it's just the opposite.

Please research cruise lines that are completely non-smoking or deal with it!!!!

They do congregate in the casino and gamble very little...I have seen it over and over....they are too busy being unsightly chimneys.....they are not really a high value customer IMHO....no bar or casino has gone out of business because they banned smoking..

All Cruise lines should follow Celebrity's lead concerning smoking on their ships. Only in limited outside designated smoking areas.

<sarcasm>Yea, because if you are a smoker you are nothing but low life scum who

shouldn't be allowed around the self-righteous non-smokers. </sarcasm>

Call yourself whatever you want but that's your opinion, not mine.

I have to say, I found the Deck 17 Aft "Smoke Pit with the Burn Outs" as I affectionately called it, the nicest outside area of the ship. The good people gathered there were a very friendly convivial bunch. I observed far more friendly chatter and good felliwship there than anywhere else on the ship. I think there is a camaraderie that is formed when a group of people are castigated and stigmatized just because they want to enjoy the freedom to spark one up!

As a smoker I agree with this. We are shunned by others so we congregate together. I met several very interesting people in the smoking area on my last cruise.

By the way, not all smokers are inconsiderate. All you have to do is ask and I will move to a place where the smoke doesn't reach you. However, if you walk by me and rudely cough or gag I'll just stay where I am and be rude back to you.

Totally agree with your second paragraph. Respect has to go both ways.
