Escape boarding terminal question

I am sailing with a group of 12 on the Escape in March. We just looked at our boarding passes and we all have different terminals. My daughter even is in a different terminal since she is booked with another adult in her room. Has anyone had this happen? Can we just all go in the same terminal since our reservations were linked with the travel agent? Will my daughter need a parental consent form from us? Will we all meet up anyway in the terminal, or not until we get on the ship? If I call NCL, I'm sure I will get 5 different answers from 5 different agents. I guess the biggest question is, how strict are they about the terminal you go in?

I would still call NCL, particularly since you may have an issue with your daughter. To my knowledge, the ship uses the one terminal, but there are two boarding bridges, which may be labelled as two different terminals. However, I have never boarded Escape in Miami, only some of NCL's other ships.

All guests are given their boarding assignments based on the deck their staterooms are located. This is determined ahead of time, and your key cards are made well before you arrive at the terminals. So if you decide to ignore information on your Cruise Ticket, your daughter's card will not be available at the terminal you are assigned to. You have plenty of time before March to work on fixing the problem either through your PCC at NCL or TA.;);)

Absolutely ridicules that they would put all the linked reservations in the same terminal. Just another NCL hassle. Yeah, another phone call to try to fix yet another issue.

Just got off the escape. No they wouldn't let us all board together even with my mil needing a wheelchair. Can't answer about your child because we don't have one. Maybe with a group of 12 instead of 4 they will accommodate you.

Again NCL makes things way more difficult than it needs to be. RCL and Carnival are so much easier to deal with. Why in the hell would they split linked reservations in different terminals? Don't they realize people within the same group want to go on board together? Don't tell me it's because the Escape is so big. I have been on the Allure and Oasis without any issues. Freestyle dining would be great if it worked, but it clearly doesn't. All of the NCL slappies need to stop fooling themselves and trying to convince yourself you can do what you want, when you want, because it simply is not true. This is the most false advertised cruise line ever. How can they claim to be free style when I have had to make reservations for everything ( I mean everything) 90 days prior to sailing and you still don't get the times you want. Sure, everyone says you can change everything as soon as you get on board. Who wants to do that? I want to enjoy myself, not start making reservations for everything again. I am as easy going as they come and I'm sure I will have a great time, but I can honestly say it is not worth dealing with NCL when I have never had issues like this with any other line. I know this sounds petty, but I think I have finally hit my breaking point with NCL. I hope they can change my mind and make me want to book again with them, but they have really put a bad taste in my mouth.

Is your daughter in the same terminal as the adult she is booked with. If not, depending on the age of your daughter, if she is a minor, I would definitely call NCL and tell them you don't want your daughter boarding alone (especially if her account is under your credit card). If she is in the same terminal with the adult, I would also ask NCL the question about whether your daughter will need a parental consent form from you. Edited by NLH Arizona

Yes, she will have to be with the adult she is booked with since the adults ticket says the same terminal. Yes I will make sure I give her a consent form even if NCL says she won't need it. I have received different answers on the same question every time I call.

If you are booked through a TA, your TA needs to call NCL and make arrangements for boarding together. With a party of 12 the group service coordinator might be a good place to start. I also learned that the port agents are the POC for issues related to the port. We were met and escorted by the port agent through the luggage pick up and customs due to my daughters allergy. With prior arrangements cards can be moved from one pier to the other by the shore side supervisor. My daughter is removed from our reservation the night before sailing and her sail card is not available to the desk agent. The supervisor is the one who has access to her card and is able to reinstate her to the reservation.

I know you are just trying to help, thank you for that, but that sounds like way too much trouble. As I said before this is just ridiculous and I should not have to do any of that after spending thousands of dollars for a vacation. I don't understand how NCL is the only line with this issue. I will call NCL and see if they can change it (which I doubt). If I can't, I will have to deal with it and not let it bother me. I'll get over it.

And I left RCCL and changed my reservation to a February '16 sailing on Escape because of the UN-WOW I felt last year on the Liberty. Talk about a company that does not care about their customers. All these cruise lines have two things in common.. 1: Take our money 2: Make as much money as they can. NCL, RCCL, and Carnival each sail with full ships each week. We can all find something to complain about on any cruise. It is easy to rip a multi-billion dollar company and none of us are running one. STOP COMPLAINING!!

Then please go sail with them. You've got more issues than boarding problems. Why are you taking this cruise?

I'd think if you're trusting another adult sleeping in the same room as your daughter on another deck of the ship for 7 days, boarding with them shouldn't be an issue.

You should probably saill a different cruise line since NCL is so bad. You are likely to have a very bad time on this trip based on your unrealistic expectations.

My guess is they meant to say the linked reservations are NOT in the same terminal. Who knows.

I think we should give this person a little break. I had the same situation where I had an older daughter (17) that was staying in a room with her friends and we needed an adult just to have their name on the room. They also had to go in a different terminal which was a real pain. I had to give her a consent form and we all had to meet up on the ship later since we didn't get to board any where near the same time. I was upset and could not understand why they wouldn't put all linked groups together, but I got over it and had a great cruise. I think this person will too. I'm sure it was just a reaction to finding out they weren't together, just like so many of the rants on here. It does amaze me how many people complain about so many things on here, yet they keep coming back.

Take a breath. Am I correct that you've not sailed NCL yet? It seems you are unnecessarily stressing yourself out. Yes, this boarding thing is an issue. I suppose NCL could stop using both terminals and filter everyone through one, making it take much longer. Personally, I'm glad they don't do that. You have time to fix this. Stop stressing about lounge chairs and all the other nitpicking crap in your posts, focus on the handful of things you really need to deal with, and you'll be less stressed. I've never felt overwhelmed planning any of my NCL cruises. It's not that hard.

Odd floors board from one terminal and even floors board from another terminal. I'm guessing it's a way to combat lengthy waits at the terminal by using 2 terminals. Our group is on both odd & even floors so we too are boarding from separate terminals. Fortunately since we checked ahead of time, we have made arrangements so the kids can board with the adults they are staying with. I would much rather make arrangements in advance and use 2 terminals than wait twice as long and only use 1. Happy Cruising!!!

When a NCL ship is so large (Escape, Getaway and Epic) the ship docks across 2 terminals, B & C. One terminal is for certain decks (alternate) and the other is for other decks.

Since your daughter is on different deck as you, it's likely she will be in different Muster station as yours, so she has to go with the adult.

If she is a minor, I would suggest she and the adult go with you to check in in your terminal so you receive the ship cards and then you all 4 go together to the other terminal for them to check in with you around.

Or, *maybe* when you check in, they might go over to the other terminal to get the ship cards for your daughter + adult.

Calling NCL might not help. There are over 4000 people divided between the 2 terminals.

Just go along with the flow, and let it be a lesson learnt ...

2 terminals = faster check-in and boarding ;)
