LabGuy64 Posted January 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2016 I have never bought a drink package...have either had them included or not use them....but, I was wondering if they offer discounts on board from the prices listed on the website? I just can't see paying 880.00pp for a classic drink package.
az_tchr Posted January 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2016 No discounts ever I have heard about. Have never bough one. Happy with my two bottles of wine on board and an occasional drink on board. The package is offered as a perk to about 80% of cruiser included in their booking fee. jelayne Posted January 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2016 Before they started offering as a perk there would be an occasional special of 10% off. That was about 3 ago, if memory serves me. Now tge price is the price.

cawags Posted January 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2016 I have gotten a discount on my beverage packages twice. Last time was our British Isles cruise in August 2015. Just have to read the boards and keep checking the website. We are doing South America in 2017 Buenos Aires for Carnival. Around the Horn. And the Panama Canal to Miami. Have the classic package as our perk for the first 2 legs but nothing for the last leg to Miami since it's a TA. So I will be watching for that one. Carol and Dave. :D
Rare chemmo Posted January 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2016 Booked on a transpacific Celebrity Suite so no drink package If you are in a CS then I would take into account how much time you will be spending in Michael's Club before booking a drinks package. It is open until after 11pm every evening and we have received superb service and the drinks of our choice on three different cruises. Although we had a premium package and could drink at any bar we much preferred Michael's for our pre and post dinner drinks. They did also have water and sodas they were happy for you to take away. That would leave you paying for wine with dinner and poolside drinks. As I said, it does depend if you want, for example, to spend more time at the Martini Bar....but then your choice would be limited on a classic package and you may need a premium package. Could be worth getting on board and seeing how it goes... Our TP cruise on the Solstice was amazing make sure you get up early to see Bora Bora coming into view.... darbs7 Posted January 23, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2016 I have only cruised celebrity with a drink package. I take it as a perk when I book and then I upgrade to the premium. When we cruise we do drink (too much). We usually have a "fluffy" drink or two during the day. We have a pre and post martini to dinner and then watch shows or in the casino we have a few drinks. At home we drink nothing except when we go out to dinner or have friends over. I love not having to sign slips. When we cruised with other lines we always signed for drinks...I think it totaled about 700-800 for both of us for the week.
Soca Queen Posted January 23, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2016 If you have OBC why not use that to reduce the cost of the drinks package

I just can't see paying 880.00pp for a classic drink package. No offers onboard for the package as far as I have seen. And don't forget, there is now an 18% service charge added to the price of the package making it ridiculously priced. I think the only item you will see discounted onboard are the specialty restaurants and that is based on whether or not there are low bookings.
