6:15 pm and Getaway still tied up?

Just watching the Port of Miami webcam, and the Getaway isn't moving. She's supposed to leave at 4:00 pm, and now its 6:20. Anyone heard about any problems on recent cruises?

I thought that too, however two carnival ships, and a Disney boat left as scheduled. I would have thought their passengers were faced with the same transportation issues as those coming in for the Getaway.:confused:

Watching also....strange since the Getaway is almost always the 1st one out...was on board last month and the Captain told me they pride themselves on being 'on time'

I doubt that they would wait in those circumstances; remember what happened when there was an airport closure recently due to a shooter. They didn't wait for anyone to arrive late and they needed to miss 3 days to catch up.

I know her schedule calls for weekly trips ...but does anyone know for sure the Getaway WAS scheduled to go out this week...

its just a little strange that no one on board has posted anything,,,if I remember right the last time this type of thing happened, dozens of people were posting on CC from the ship

We disembarked this AM and friends of ours are still onboard. She is scheduled to be at GSC tomorrow.

There was another thread started earlier today indicating that they were planning to leave at 10 pm tonight due to some scheduled maintenance. I will see if I can track down the thread for more info.

Friends are on GA now. According to guest services a large group of approx 150 are on a chartered flight that was delayed.

On the Getaway now. We received a letter upon boarding saying it was for maintenance. Little bit of an annoyance as we couldn't look in the shops yet but we got to leave Miami as it was all lit up which was nice

We were on the Getaway NYE cruise, and were "stuck" in Cozumel till 10:30 p.m. due to "maintanence issues" - a seam had split in the hull, and underwater divers had to go down and sodder it. We were supposed to sail around 6 p.m. Wonder if it was the same kind of problem...
