beshears Posted January 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2016 If you have been on the Adventure of the Seas within the past year, and "discovered" something on this ship, that no one had told you, or you had read about, and you would like to share it, please do. :) For example, maybe you found an "easier" way to get to a certain area, than what someone told you, or maybe you found something in your stateroom that you did not (something good :)) expect to find, etc.? beshears Posted January 29, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 29, 2016 Clarea, what is the peek-a-boo bridge, and how can we find it? What is special about it, or to you?
AtlantaAlly Posted January 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2016 I often found myself forgetting, but one side of the deck is smoking, so walk on the other side if smoke bothers you. The mudslides are best at the pool bar. If you want to be on a winning quest team, sit on the sides, not to the front of Studio B. Casino is a good cut through to the dining room and give a couple of good bars on the way. A little smokey even when closed- but a ghost town! If you're stuck in the promenade, find the stairs and head down to avoid crowds.
davekathy Posted January 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Clarea, what is the peek-a-boo bridge, and how can we find it? What is special about it, or to you? Peek-a-boo bridge is on deck 11 forward. You get to peek down into the Bridge. Edited January 30, 2016 by davekathy

Go outside on deck 11, and go as far forward as you can go. There is an area where you can look down onto the bridge.
DeadPhish Posted January 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Does Adventure still have the Sports Bar? Or did they convert it over to Vintages? Also, they now have a Cigar bar right?

mattpro Posted January 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Men's & Ladies rooms on pool deck (#11) have floor to ceiling windows for your viewing pleasure. Only available on Voyager class ships. For smoker's the AOS is the most smoke friendly ship in the fleet.

Clarea Posted January 30, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Sailing in September and I smoke. Where can you smoke on this ship and can you smoke ciggarettes in the cigar smoking place, You can smoke in the casino and on one side of the outside decks. I don't think the cruise line prohibits cigarette smoking in the Connoisseur Club (cigar lounge).

mattpro Posted January 30, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Smoking on the Adventure The 2 places to smoke with a roof over your head is at the casino (deck 4) & the Connoisseur Club (deck 5 - cigar bar). Note however, in Dec. 2015 smoking was suspended in the casino for the 2nd formal night. (This was also done on the Navigator the 3rd week of Jan. 2016 - seems to be a test that RCL is running to stop smoking in the casino, since the new CEO is highly averse to smoking.) Outdoor smoking Deck 4 starboard side, as well as pool deck (11) and the 12th deck, which is open air. Here's the best for smokers The Diamond Lounge (located on the starboard side deck 14) allows smoking out on the veranda that overlooks the BB court, miniature golf and abutting the rock wall. Drinks, entertainment, appetizers and smoking all in one place. This is the only ship in the fleet that allows this.

With a new adverse smoking CEO, there is hope that smoking will only be permitted outside! It's really sickening to smell gross (hair and clothes) when you return to your cabin at night especially if you've been in the casino. And yes, at least we can walk on one side of the pool deck to avoid the gross smells. If only these people realized how badly they smelled and the effect it has on their health! Of course I didn't think of taking pictures of the menu, but the lobster tail and prime rib were together one night, they had a dish called Singapore Noodles that was pretty good. Most of the same things were on the menus, but possibly moved to different days.
unittech Posted January 31, 2016 #20 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Being a non-smoker - one thing I never picked up - was wondering if RCCL okays smoking on your room balcony. It's been awhile since we have cruised and I know this has been a hot topic in the past. Just wondering, not trying to pass judgment. I know I can always close the door:). mattpro Posted January 31, 2016 #21 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Smoking on balcony As Jan. 1,2014 smoking is no longer allowed on the balconies. If someone does, most likely they will be turned in by one of their neighbors. Those who disobey 1st time - warning 2nd time - fine 3rd time - pack your bags because you're leaving the ship at the next port. RCL takes their smoking policy very seriously. CRUISEFAN0001 Posted January 31, 2016 #23 Share Posted January 31, 2016 While getting several e-mails promoting specialty restaurant packages... ...it appears that Chops & Giovanni's Table are the only 2 main specialty restaurants. Is that correct? [Online information is sketchy or not current]
imapost2003 Posted January 31, 2016 #24 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Yes that is correct. Also kind of secret...Gym locker rooms have a free sauna, steam room, and very large showers for anyone to use free of charge. Discovered this a few years ago on my own and have investigated/used them on every cruise since.
