Earliest safe time for a flight home? Cruising out of Seattle

We'll be cruising the Ruby Princess out of Seattle this summer, what's the earliest "safe" time we can book a flight home after the cruise? There are not a lot of choices home for us unfortunately. Also best/fastest/easiest way to get from the port to the airport? We are a group of 11.

Thank you!

Here is my standard response:

Both piers are about 30 minutes from SeaTac. I suggest giving it an hour due to hwy/tunnel construction, city events, and general miserable traffic around Seattle.

You should be at the airport 2 hrs prior for a domestic flight. SeaTac is extremely busy in the summer, esp on weekends when several thousand cruise ship passengers are all told to be at the airport noon or later for flights.

For transfers, price a few options...... a private van with Seattle Express or Shuttle Express, or $15 pp for shared shuttle with Seattle Express. With luggage you'd probably need 3 towncars/limo, so probably $60 per car. Taxis will run about $50 per car from pier 91 but only hold 3 pax.

p.s. at SeaTac you can use ANY TSA checkpoint, not just the one closest to your gate. So if one line is busy, don't herd .... look at the other checkpoints. There are usually 4 open.

From the Princess website:

Seattle

Embarking Passengers

For voyages that depart from Seattle at 4:00 pm, the latest flight arrival is 1:00 pm.

Disembarking Passengers

For voyages that arrive in Seattle at 7:00 am, the earliest flight departure is 11:30 am.

For voyages that arrive in Seattle at 7:30 am, the earliest flight departure is 12:00 pm.

Please note, the above flight guidelines are for passengers sailing on a cruise roundtrip from Seattle.

We have had no problem with flights at 12 noon. Two years ago our flight changed to 1130 and had plenty of time. The worse thing about SeaTac is the TSA. It has to be the worst in the US. Always long lines.

We are grabbing a red eye flight home so we can take our time disembarking and see some sights. Anyone know if TSA lines are better then?
