gapearl Posted February 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Hello all, My mom and I will have 2 1/2 days in Bermuda on our Pride cruise late this summer. She's an inactive senior and I could use some suggestions on what to do with her when there. Nothing with a beach or anything too physical, but more along the lines of historic landmarks, museums, anything cultural, or a good island tour. Thanks in advance. :)

You can do a taxi tour, say four hours and see a lot of the island. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2016 A horse and buggy ride in Hamilton. Also consider a drive with a taxi driver. They are really good and some are tour guides. Keith
KirkNC Posted February 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2016 We're are you docking? That would impact the answer. Hamilton would be best as there is lots to do right by the ship.

(BUEI) in Hamilton; visit Waterville & Parkland (#2, #7 or #8) located at the end of Hamilton Harbor; while in St George, include a visit to the Unfinished Church and St Peter's Church; if you are in St George on Wednesday, you could have Afternoon Tea at Sweet P's at the Bermuda Perfumery; for a change of pace, play a round of miniture golf at FunGolf located at the Dockyard; visit the Verdmont Museum (#1) located in Smith's parish; you could do some shopping at the Clocktower Mall at the Dockyard; visit the Dockyard Glassworks for demo and shop at company store. 17cruisesnsl Posted February 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2016 My mom is in her 80s so we've done the boat cruise around the island - lots of beautiful homes and also the full island bus tour. Both were scheduled thru NCL. My mom loved St. George where, while I shopped and took photos, she sat and she had a lovely conversation with a Bermudian gentleman who asked if she had been to Bermuda before. She told him, it was planned to go there on her honeymoon in 1953 but being practical she opted for the Poconos and a washing machine. He laughed and told her not much had changed and proceeded to give her a history of the town. A few minutes later there was a skit in the square - punishing the disobedient wife by dunking her. Your mom would have to manage steps to do the boat tour. We plan to be back in Bermuda in June, with my cousin who recently had spinal surgery and is not very mobile, so responses to your question have been helpful to me as well. Have a great cruise
knoxblox Posted February 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Appreciating the completeness of the responses to this question. Very informative for those of us who are fully mobile as well. Thanks!
gapearl Posted March 21, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to make note of them all and look into them when I start doing some more Bermuda research. If you have any other ideas, please keep them coming. :)
