uncleg Posted February 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2016 I have not taken a 3 day cruise since my very first one, that was about 13 years ago. This is a quick getaway with some friends. I am not sure what to expect...all of my other cruises in last few years have been 5 and 7 days. I am flexible and can roll with whatever...but was curious. golfb4cruzing Posted February 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2016 Take 72 hours. And soak them in alcohol.

Rare Tapi Posted February 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately, my 3 night Sensation cruise has been my least favorite. Overly rowdy passengers, crew that was either indifferent or unable to keep up with the out of control passengers, dirty ship (even with crusted throw up left untouched on stairwells), tacky, run down decor, and even a fist fight in the middle of the atrium with screaming and glasses flying. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience but I want to think that this sailing was an exception and not the norm. Although we've sailed on short weekend itineraries before and we've seen our share of alcohol infused behavior, what we experienced on the Sensation was much more pronounced. cb at sea Posted February 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2016 3 nighters are short...quick and to the point. Yes..there will be lots of partiers, trying to fit a weeks worth of fun into a shorter time. No worries...join in or not..up to you!

I have cruised on her during the summer for the last 3 years on that 3 night cruise and have had a blast each time. Sure, there are people partying, in fact, I may be one of them. I've never seen anyone get nasty or rowdy - except for the bride that was heckling the comedian during a comedy show and got thrown out LOL. The ship is clean, the service is great, food is good, and the drinks flow freely! When you get to Nassau walk on down to the Tiki Bikini Hut and tell Byron hello - all you can drink all day for $35. Rare CruisinCrow Posted February 10, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2016 We did the 3-day Sensation cruise in September 2014. I posted a review with pictures here: http://www.susancrow.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-carnival-sensation.html You really can't compare the 3-day cruises with the long ones but they are still fun. You're not going to get to know the staff like you do on a 7-day cruise. And you'll probably see more partying and fewer dressy clothes. They are great for quick getaways with friends. My husband and I actually prefer the short cruises and take land vacations for longer trips.
keystonemama Posted February 12, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 12, 2016 We also sailed her a few years ago for a birthday and now again next week for my 50th, so yes, party, lol. People are drinking more but nothing was really any different than any of my other cruises. Don't know if they have the Alchemy bar now, hope so, I love those Cucumber Sunrises! I cannot remember though is there a elegant night on a 3 day cruise?
Sweet Dutch Girl Posted February 12, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 12, 2016 If you book a 3 day cruise DON'T expect it to be anything like a 7 day. These are definitely party cruises...much louder, more drinking, no room in the casino, no room by the pools, people who stay up most of the night and who come back pretty plastered from port days. The demographic is usually younger, more metropolitan, and many more large conglomerates of singles out to have a good time with their friends. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of it. It is just different and a different experience. The dining room is more rowdy, the atmosphere much more casual. Lots of bikinis, lots of sun-worshipers. It reminds me of old time frat parties...with people letting down their hair. As long as someone doesn't envision a weekend cruise to be a replica of the Titanic, they will do just fine. The people watching is a hoot.
