JerseyMouseCruises Posted February 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2016 I am trying to figure out what to pack for a March cruise out of NY. Do they typically pump up the air conditioning at night? I would like to bring mostly dresses. I will certainly pack some cardigans, but am worried I will still be cold. Ladies, were your legs freezing in a dress, toes frozen in sandals?....
fairygirl1 Posted February 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) We have cruised 3 times from ny in march... definetly bring a couple of light sweaters. It is chilly inside, esp the theatre and resturants. I usually wear sandles throughout w/no issues! Have a great trip! :) Edited February 20, 2016 by fairygirl1
zqvol Posted February 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2016 They keep the temperature the same at night as during the day. We usually find it to be warmer than we like.
Barb Nahoumi Posted February 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2016 Definitely bring a sweater or wrap to the dining room or theater. It can get chilly.
ms sjsky Posted February 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I cruised on the Gem out of NYC in January and brought long sleeve shirts for dinner and evenings. Wished I brought more tank tops since I thought the dining/bar areas and theater were warm.
Rare All-ready2cruise Posted February 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I think for most, if you're wearing a sleeveless top (dress or blouse) a nice light bolero (my choice) or light sweater is perfect. It's not so cold that you need a woolie... and once in the southern US, you'll only need it in the MDR since outside will be heavenly and warm. Weluv2cruise2gether Posted February 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2016 As others have stated, take a wrap or light cardigan as I always think the theater is cold due to the air conditioning. Sometimes the dining rooms are chilly. I usually take a neutral colored pashmina. They fold or roll up nicely and are easy to carry around if needed. Enjoy your cruise!
