We are leaving in about 12 days (but who is counting...). First time ncl. The Getaway... Does ncl do photos upon boarding? And what do most people wear,specifically ladies? Thanks for your help!!!

Photos, yes, if you wish. Wearing, anything and everything. Most are probably just casual clothing from shorts to maybe jeans/slacks. You'll see every manner of dress. You're not wrong whatever.

There tends to be photographers somewhere between the check-in area and actually boarding the boat.

 

In the past they were VERY pushy and you had, almost, to be very rude to get past them. The last couple of times they were less so and let you past if you said "No, thank you". That has been true wherever the photographers have been 'trying their luck'.

 

NCL may be known for "Freestyle Dining" but the whole cruise is "Freestyle", in general you wear whatever you feel comfortable in. There are a few rules about clothes but very few.

After Check-In, you'll go up the escalators to the waiting area. At the top of the escalators, there will be two backdrops with photographers.

 

Doesn't cost anything to have a picture taken. No reason not to take a photo.

 

Folks have an assortment of street clothes. Nothing fancy. We normally have some sort of tropical/Hawaiian ware. The boarding photo is the one picture, if any, that we purchase with each cruise.

In Venice, they got you as soon as you walked in the terminal, after a long hot walk dagging our luggage from the Alilaguna drop off, the pic turned out good, one of our faves.
