What's to do around Intercontinental Miami and hotel ?

Will be flying in to FLL early on friday. We have aranged to have a service take us from the airport to our hotel. It looks like we should arrive right before lunch. Obviously we won't be able to get into our rooms. Has anyone had experience having the hotel hold their luggage? Any recommendations on what to do in the area in walking distance?

If your room is ready you can check in.

 

Otherwise they will hold it for you.

 

If the room will be ready within an hour of your arrival, you might want to have lunch there.

They will hold luggage.

 

Go to Bayside Market for lunch, shop, have a cocktail! Just a short distance away!

There are tons of nearby options. Some within walking distance and others a short Uber or can ride away. I wouldn't suggest Bayside. There's not much there worth going to unless you want the standard tourist trap restaurants.

 

The hotel will hold your luggage or possibly let you check in early. No problems with that.

While Bayside is closer I would check out Mary Brickell Village. It's a nice place to go for dinner with lots of dining choices and there are stores too and fun to just walk around.
