Do Diamond Plus Have Access to Liberty's Suite Lounge???

Down in the deepest and darkest place on deck one or the tween deck is the signage that will change the concierge lounge to the suite lounge overnight.

It was put out on one ship last year and removed after a few days but I cannot remember which ship.

On the Liberty it is already designated with a permanent "Suite Lounge" sign. Until now D+ have been allowed to use the lounge. Evidently their invitation has just been taken away.

Thanks for the update Pete.

I wonder if they will implement that other aspect of the suite lounge: free soda, beer, wine from 11am to 11pm.

Bob, I sure don't know. One of the loyalty ambassadors told me that RCCL would like to have a Costal Kitchen on most of their ships. Of course, he could have heard that from one of the diamond members.

I've found you can always trust the Diamond members.

It's the pesky Diamond Plus that you have to watch out for.

Well, I feel bad for my fellow D+ but this is why we picked a GS over a JS - we saw this coming. This should ensure the SL is not horribly crowded at least. I'd love to have a Coastal Kitchen fleetwide. We LOVED it on Oasis.

I would love to see Coastal Kitchen on at least the Freedom ships, we had GS on last 2 cruises in 2014 we could not get a seat a few times in CL, but 2015 it was never crowded this was on Navigator, we love the GS and will keep getting them as long as price doesn't get to bad. Would really like a real priority embarkation for suite like many other lines, rather than same line as half the other passengers

I'd love to see a CK too, but can't figure out where they would put it, unless they took space out of Viking Crown.

They would have to remove Viking Crown and make it CK. Can't see that happening on the smaller ships - that's now the nightly disco.

George - we've very seldom had crowding issues in CL's but we tend to go in right as early seating is starting. We've always had good luck with suite embarkation - only one time were we not ahead of everyone else. Sorry that hasn't happened with you.

Royal Caribbean could create a CK on every ship the same way that Celebrity created a Luminae on every ship. Just wall off a piece of the MDR.

True. I would think they would want CK near the SL as on Oasis class, but that's not what they did on Anthem. Could go anywhere.

On Celebrity, the same people have access to Luminae as to Michael's Club but the two venues are quite far apart. There might be even more reason not to have them adjoining on RCCL now that people in a JS can have dinner at CK but cannot access the SL (unless they are Pinnacles).

Didn't think about the JS folks, but you are correct, those folks have a bit of difficulty getting into CK without a gold card.

They will be admitted to CK at dinner time with a silver card and a reservation but I think some terrible punishment must await them if they wander across the imaginary line that separates CK from the SL on Oasis or Allure!

Might have been John (John & LaLa) who described his experience on Oasis as having to knock on the door to get in.

Will the suite lounge be added to all the ships from freedom class on?

When I was on the Allure last October the Costal Kitchen was only available to Full Suite guests and P Members at all times and JS guest for dinner only

Unless I missed it, no one has answered this question.

I was unaware that any ships outside of the O and Q classes had added Suites Lounges. Did they eliminate the CL altogether like on the O class ?

Are there other ships that have added a SL besides this ship ?

There is still a CL on Quantum class.

So far, the only ship outside of Oasis class that has a Suite Lounge is Liberty.

Except perhaps for the Vision and lower class ships I think that the Viking Crown Lounge may well become a thing of the past. It is already gone on the Oasis Class and has been somewhat gobbled up with the relocation of the CLs and DLs on several other ships.

From what I've heard the CK is a great selling feature for attracting suite guests. Personally I don't see them physically separating the SL and CK except perhaps by a wall.

I don't know if JS guests get the complimentary drinks that are available to suite and pinnacle guests when they eat in the CK. John probably knows the answer to that.

I think this is one of those things that depend on the management in charge at the time.

I have never been on any cruise that I can remember that suites and Pinnacles were't the first group to board after b2b's of course. In December on LB there was a special seating section for suites and P's.

Hi George - all but one of our Galveston sailings suites boarded first(after any wedding parties), D+, then D's. The one time it didn't happen it appeared there was confusion among the land staff and it was a mistake. enjoy your cruise - hope you report back. I have 2 suite questions I'm curious about. 1st - do suites just get tender tickets for Grand Cayman or do they get escorted to the tenders and 2nd - do they get access to Chops seating area for embarkation lunch? We LOVE avoiding that chaos in WJ

When we were in a Suite on Liberty we did not call on any tender ports so I cannot validate this for certain...but on other ships when we have called on tender ports the concierge personally accompanied us down to the tender departure area and put us immediately on a tender (we essentially "cut in line"). That was wonderful on the GOING part but coming back, you are on your own...there is no priority line for getting BACK to the ship - at least, there wasn't on Freedom at Coco Cay in May 2015.

I cannot recall whether or not Chops was open for lunch on embarkation day but I don't believe it is. I absolutely loved having b'fast daily in Chops. It was one of the nicest of the Suites perks, IMO.

Suite people/ Gold cards could sit in chops for lunch, but on embarkation days and port days you needed to get food from WJ. But chops staff would get us drinks, and it was almost empty so nice relaxing place to sit after boarding ( this is how it was on Navigator, I assume Liberty will be the same)

Having just returned from the Liberty, sailing in a GS and my first cruise as a Diamond C&A member, I can answer a few questions.

1. We never found the Suite Lounge nor the Diamond Lounge crowded.

2. The suite/pinnacle priority line for check-in was quite short. We got there about noon and had to wait in line behind two or three other parties.

3. When tendering at Belize City, the concierge, Anis, met us in the Deck 10 forward elevator lobby and escorted us to the front of the tender line. No tickets involved.

4. We did have, and took advantage of, seating in Chops for our embarkation day lunch.

Thanks Paul - for once, things seem consistent. Those 4 points have been that way for us on other ships. Hoping it would be the same on Liberty.

And yep, I know there is no priority tendering on the way back and know that Chops lunch on embarkation day is WJ food.
