Refund for onboard credit

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a check from ncl for having a credit balance on our on-board account?

I would not expect anything for at least 6 - 8 weeks. Also make sure that your credit balance was one that was actually refundable, most are not unless you actually gave them cash for your account.

I received my refund check today. 9 weeks and 2 days since disembarking. I thought about calling and asking when the check would be coming but I decided to just wait and see. I guess if it were a large check I would have been more insistent on following up on it.

Sorry if I'm high-jacking but I noticed the comment about making sure your credit is refundable....

are the on-board credit certificates you buy on-line in advance refundable??

if not ... can I get cash out at the casino using that credit if I have some left at the end of the cruise?

Purchased OBC is fully refundable.

You can get cash form the casino against your on board account at any time the casino is open. Normally NCL will not match up any particular charge to your account with any specific payment/credit. Some have experienced different results.

If you do go to get cash from the casino just ask for cash on your on board account. The fact you do or do not have OBC is 100% irrelevant to them and they would have no way of knowing that anyway. You'll just complicate matters if you start asking them about OBC.

I've been waiting 3 months . I emailed NCL about it and got no reply. I have to say that over the two cruises with NCL that we took from Sept to Oct 1st 2017 the customer service ranged from good to appalling. I did fill out their feedback form and expressed the same in more detail. I'm wondering if their customer service is so appalling that they would have prejudice against me for that and either not refund my credit or delay it for an appallingly ridiculous amount of time. I will never cruise with them again.

After writing previously about waiting 3 months without a refund of my onboard credit, I emailed another department of NCL who forwarded the email to the original department that I emailed and finally I got the reply pasted below. I still haven't received the refund yet so I'll keep you posted. Either way over 3 months is an appallingly long time to wait for a refund. Note there is no explanation for the delay. (I have taken out some of the details for privacy, discretion and security reasons)
