With such a short time for the room steward to clean the rooms, do they ever change the mattress? If a problem has been reported, likely, but ....

They change the bed if that is what you are asking. How often this is done does vary by cruise line.

 

Mattresses are replaced every few years but should one be a problem they are changed out before the regularly scheduled plan to change them all out.k

They would change the mattress if something is wrong with it, or if it's the normal time for that mattress to be replaced.

Are you worried about something in particular? They will change the mattress if they are made aware of an issue or notice an issue. Not sure how often they put new mattress in, but right now they are rolling out new mattresses fleet wide. So that appears to be a long install for the entire fleet.

If you are unhappy with your mattress ask your room steward for another one. They will get it for you. Sheets are changed at least once on cruises- more often on longer cruises.
