Spirit "Suite" experience

Hi all,

We are sailing out in a few days in a suite on the Spirit and I was wondering how embarkation goes on this ship in particular. On the Getaway we were escorted to the haven lounge for a reception with sliders and drinks. We were then escorted to our room by our butler.

Since there is no Haven Lounge, garden or restaurant, how does this work? Also are the breakfast and lunches at Cagney's or another SR?

Thanks!

I can't help much, but maybe a little will help.

When I cruised on the Spirit it was out of New Orleans so I can't tell you how the Suite pre-boarding will go now.

I was the last suite guest to check in. (small-ship, very few Suites). The concierge checked me in and escorted me to Cagney's for lunch.

Before I was finished with lunch, it was announced that all cabins were ready. I just went up to my Suite an my own.

There I met my Butler, he had just finished escorting and briefing the Suites occupants that arrived on time.

One nice thing about the Spirit. With so few suites, the staff gets to know you quickly and will great you by name everywhere on the ship.

Yes Breakfast and Lunch are at Cagney's.

We sailed on the Spirit back in December out of Port Canaveral. When we went into the main building I asked someone where the check in was for suites. They directed us to the proper line. From there we were walked over to a waiting area with snacks and drinks. A couple of the butler's came around and handed out the room keys. When it was time they escorted us onto the ship. Our cabin was ready so we dropped our bags and headed to Cagneys for lunch. Spirit was great!

We will be sailing out of port canaveral for the first time (as an embarkation port) next month on the Spirit. Look for a suites check-in line. (When we sailed out of Seattle last year, the suites check-in was nothing more than a card table in front of the terminal,,,, but they escorted us from that point forward).

They usually use Cagney's as the suites breakfast and lunch dining room and concierge lounge.

Thank you for your replies. Do you know if the menus for B,L,D would be the same as on a ship with a Haven, are they different?

VIP breakfast and lunch menus are the same fleetwide but there is no dinner available on ships without a dedicated restaurant.

Thanks, that makes sense as the perk on the Spirit is breakfast and lunch. I thought I did recall something about a haven menu from the butler but maybe I am mistaken. In any regard I had already purchased a five night SDP as soon as I heard everything was headed toward al la carte.

If you haven't already booked your dinner reservations at the specialties, you might want to do it as soon as possible. On our Pearl cruise the year before, we had the dining package for every night. Never had a problem getting in without reservations.

However, between the Spirit being a lot smaller and so many people having the dining promo, it was almost impossible to get in some nights. Even the concierge couldn't get us into Cagneys the last night. We ended up having Cagneys delivered to the suite by our butler instead.

At PC, you drop bags with porters outside, walk in terminal, suite security is on right side and we had no wait. We had all our paperwork ready which they appreciated and commented on that it made it much quicker. Went through security scan told to go up escalators and look for two ladies on right side.

Showed them paperwork, one lady walked us into main check in area all the way to far end. Waited for agent then did check in. He walked us over to a roped off suite sitting area with snacks. Around 11:15 someone took us onto the ship and to Cagneys. They weren't serving lunch until noon as I recall but you could sit in there.

We decided to walk around ship since it was empty and only had some TAs and some B2B people on board. Went back to Cagneys around noon and sat down. Florentina came over. Service for waiter seemed (was) slow. Ordered drinks and told bar didn't open until 12:30. Finally around 12:50 drinks came so if you want a drink get it by a bar elsewhere. That is right around when lunch came.

We walked to our own room. Met butler later in the afternoon. Made a small list of the things the pre-concierge didn't get completed. Lats rep came by a bit later with the sparking wine. Muster was aft port side outside - we were deck 9 aft.

Yes, that is a good tip. I have reservations, I just need to move one of my Cagney nights to Teppanyaki as it can't be reserved before sailing. I purchased a five night SDP since I got the DSC and UBP as well as some OBC at booking.

I made reservations on all three of my NCL cruises on-line and am glad I did. The specialties fill up very fast.

Vicocala,

Give the Pre-cruise Concierge a call at 855-625-4283.

We were able to pre book Teppanyaki though them for the April 23 sailing.

On another thread you asked about reserved seating... None for the pool.

The theater upper level will have a sign saying it is reserved for the Owners Suite Only.

Don't believe it. It is reserved for all Suite Guests. The butlers "Police the Door" and will open the area for general seating shortly before the show starts. So arrive early.

Take advantage of all the perks your Suite entitles you to.

Teppanyaki on the Spirit only has one table so it fills up fast. Have a great cruise!
