Sitka car rental

I would love to hear from someone who rented a car in Sitka and drove around the Island. Was it pleasant? Did you see any bears? Did you go to the beach to see wildlife? Did you see the bisson? I'm very interested in your experience. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure someone has some car rental information....or is there so much to do in town that you just stayed there. Thanks.

It's been a few years ago, but yes we rented a car. Tender to the dock, then call to

rental agency to let them know we had arrived, who picked us up with the car right there.

Unfortunately it was raining all day (not uncommon in Alaska) but we enjoyed a drive around,

and a picnic wearing our rain coats. Due to the weather, not much wild life viewing.

From what I've seen, most people use the Tribal Shuttle, public bus and tours to get to points of interest. Info on shuttle and bus at the end of this link:
