Allure of the Seas Live March 13-27 -- High Tides and Great Vibes

Recommended Posts

Hi

Watch for periscopes just after 5 o'clock this afternoon. For those of flow riding fans out there you're going to see some best of the best.

For some reason they allowed me to be involved. At 43 I will be the old timer in the competition. It's a great way to end the week with people you been hanging with.

How old is Pez? Rode hard and put away wet I guess.

So the moral of the story, if you are a smoker, book those cabins so when you smoke on the balcony, you can blame it on the smoke extractions room.:D

So you circle a spot on the starboard side of the deck plan but port side of the ship??

Sorry - I'm just envisioning a defence attorney cross examining me.. Ha

Very informative regardless.

When I made the reference to a cabin crawl I was only thinking about my own cabin, in a virtual tour on periscope. I could go and try to break into those two cabins right now, but I don't think I want to end up in the brig.

However, we have stayed in a Junior suite on Allure and I do have photos at home that I could post when we return. If you have an interest in this let me know. I believe we were even on the 10th floor but I don't think they were the cabin you are interest in.

Lol - no, don't get thrown in the brig! My line of reasoning was since you were on a b2b you might conveniently find them open.

Thanks for the photo offers. We've stayed in jr suites several times before - just not on the oasis class. I've seen several photos online - so no real need to dig yours up. I know you've got better ways to fiend your time!

Thank you, Andrew, for the review, pics, humor, and scopes. We're bringing our boys on our next cruise, which is on the Allure. My older son, Max (almost five), enjoys the quick scopes to see parts of the ship. He also thinks Owen is pretty cool. After preschool yesterday, he asked if Owen did anything today...and he was excited to see some rock climbing!

Does Owen know he is a rock climbing super star?

I also had my boys (6,8) watch his scope because we will be on Anthem next month and I knew they would be nervous. See? He didn't make it to the top and it was fine and nobody laughed (8 yo concern) and when he fell he did not fall into the ocean, get eaten by a shark and die (6 yo concern). Thanks Owen!

Of course they also want to rent jet skis in St. Martin (which was not in the plan) but we will let that go lol.

What is the story with Pezz? He was on my last Allure cruise too

Pezz is a legendary flow rider and is 66 years old.

Sometimes the "Pezz show" can run a little long, but he is generally a good guy.

Loved watching the best of the best and the sports team flow show! We became really good friends with some of the sports team when we were on Allure in 2014. Still keep in touch with a couple of them.

We can't wait until May to see it for ourselves!

I have heard from many sports staff that he is an arrogant A**!! And from the stories I hear I feel inclined to agree. I have no desire to let him take 5+ min. on the wave, feeling free to splash cameras and splash people with formals on purpose.

Does anyone know if they still sell cigars and permit smoking them on the Suite Deck on deck 17?

The last time I was aboard the cigar selling and smoking was moved to one of the sky deck bars. The suite deck in now reserved for suite guests 24 hrs a day and you have to use your key card to unlock the gate leading up there just like you do to enter the D or C lounge.

EDIT: or that might have been on Oasis. Sometimes I mix things up from the two ships. OR, it could be on both ships. :o

Do any of you remember the episode of the Twilight Zone, that was titled "To Serve Man"? I'm starting to think that cruise ships are some sort of inter galactic version of a spaceship, to which they're fattening us up, to send to space for their dinner. Is Richard Fain really a Martian? Was Matt Damon really on Mars, or is he in on the whole master plan? Is he a Martian too and this is some sort of inside joke?

Prime example, the next photos throughout the day to which is solidifying my theory. This was waiting for us in our cabin this afternoon.

Even though the photo doesn't look that appealing, the thick cut bacon at Chops is delicious. We only asked for one, but our waiter brought us another slice 10 minutes later. Does he know something we don't?

Owen got the $10 kids meal which included a 10 ounce New York strip steak. When the waiter put it in front of him, the first words out of his mouth were "this is so good I could faint". That's my boy.

Lisa and I each had a Caesar salad to start and shared two pieces of bacon. We each had the 9 ounce filet mignon and at that point we were contently full. However our waiter was having none of that. He insisted that we took dessert to go. Hopefully the spaceship is departing at the end of our B2B.

I said you're getting food porn, but I didn't tell you that it was edited.[emoji12]

We found dinner to be delicious and properly cooked. We would make the comment that the romantic notion of a quiet dinner at Chops has long passed. It took a 15 minutes to get the waiter to the table but once your order was placed it was a while oiled machine.

Did you think there was too much gratis food delivered to your room? We did not eat any of the fruit plate, none of the chocolate dipped strawberries or truffles. Maybe a little of the cheese. Just too much food went to waste. We didn't ask for it and it was not eaten.

I found the ship photo on google images and the best one was if the port, not starboard side. Don't worry though, the people on the original thread gave it to that OP. [emoji12]

I will let him know the positive effects that he is having with your boys. If it helps mom and dad, you can also tell them that he loves Adventure Ocean. [emoji6]

We do as well keep in touch with a few of them. Right now there are only a few left of the originals. There has been a lot of crew exodus to Harmony.

I have everyone at work watching! They hear the chirp of the Periscope app and they get all excited. Thanks for sharing your cruise with us.

That whistle is like a Pavlov's dog experiment. Glad to bring you along.

My SIL is following along to and she works for my business. I can only imagine productivity has gone down this past week and next week. I did have to make a few calls home (I mean work) already and a some emails, but at least someone is answering the phone.

Just watched your periscopes of the flowrider(and showed my kids). Wow... Some pretty cool tricks! Was that a competition?

When there were single riders it was the contest and when there were multiple riders it was the flow show by the crew.

Ha! Maybe he would want to scope an awesome kids club event lol. Although I'm guessing that would not be allowed.

We were just discussing today that it's tough to plan adult things when we really don't know how the kids club thing is going to go. My guess is they will either LOVE it and will never want to leave OR will want no part of it because of all the cool stuff on the ship. Either way is actually fine - family time is good, mom and dad time is good, it's all good when on vacation!!

A few photos from the day. Obviously flow riding on the scopes was a big wrap up to the end of the first week. My ride didn't go as planned but, it was a great way to end the week relating to the wave.

I got to watch a father daughter round of golf this morning. It looked rather serious.

It looks as though the daughter will want to win by any means.

Dinner at Sabor tonight. I had the Tiger Shrimp dish and it was terrrrrific.

As always, guests services was a popular spot tonight. I have wonder if they thought there was a watch sale and just got in line.

The water fountain under the rising tide bar has not been running much this week. It was tonight, but the strong centre jet was not running at all this entire week..

The digital sign above On-Air is no longer showing construction stats above. It appears to be now scrolling song lyrics.

I wouldn't want to try filming it as it would seem strange.

We do a deal with Owen and it might work with your family. Port days we stay together. On sea days it is half the day at kids club, and the other half of the day is us doing stuff with him. Maybe it will work with your kids.

There is a reason why the water is warmer in the kids pool. I try not to think about it while I keep my mouth closed while we are in it.
