Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 21, 2016 Author #502 Share Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Dinner at Giovani's tonight. Our reservation was for 6 am we were the first to arrive. We were welcomed warmly by the maître de. Some of the choices included mozzarella wrapped with prosciutto. Pizza sticks for Owen as an appetizer. Lisa and I had the beef tenderloin. I opted for risotto over the fries. Dinner was concluded with gelato and I had the the pistachio version. It looked like a crime scene when we were done, but it was delicious. suzyluvs2cruise Posted March 21, 2016 #503 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Where did you buy that plug thing? I need one (or two) Amazon.com has them. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATZJ5YS/ref=asc_df_B00ATZJ5YS4206803?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=shopzilla0d-20&ascsubtag=shopzilla_rev_72-20;14585290680852858023910080301008005&linkCode=df0&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B00ATZJ5YS
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 21, 2016 Author #504 Share Posted March 21, 2016 The highlight of Owen's night might have been his third glass of milk while having spaghetti. The maître de insisted he pour it for Owen and he was awestruck. We informed Owen that we won't be pouring it like this at home. MattInFLL Posted March 21, 2016 #506 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Matt....here are the bar menus for the Suite Lounge on Oasis. It's a full bar. The first one shows the complimentary offerings. Second one is what's available for purchase. Beer, Wine, Champagne, Soda and Bottled Water are available from 11am - 11pm and complimentary mixed drinks from the first menu are available from 5:00 - 8:30 pm. Enjoy.....we love CK and the SL. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk Suzy - thank you! Those are perfect. Andrew you are off the hook :) Also glad to know about that Belkin thing. Rare perfect match Posted March 21, 2016 #507 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for doing this review! I started reading a few days late, so I've just now caught up. This review is great for me since we are sailing the eastern itinerary on Freedom in May, only we stop at Coco Cay instead of Nassau. We will be on Oasis, our first time on one of the "big" girls, on the western itinerary in Nov. Now, all I have to do is figure out periscope! I am looking forward to following you this week without all the rushing to catch up. :D
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted March 21, 2016 #508 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Suzy - thank you! Those are perfect. Andrew you are off the hook :)... Agreed - nice list, though I wonder who was responsible for the spell check? ! ...Also glad to know about that Belkin thing. I've never had my extension cord taken but don't want there to be a first time :) ... I've used one of those for years. Along the way we've had a couple extension cords confiscated. Not only that but: curling iron, 3-way splitter/plug, small fan (3 times), and no doubt more than I can recall. We really like to live on the edge apparently! :D Tom
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 21, 2016 Author #509 Share Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Day Two -- Sea day A few quick stats for this cruise. There are 1869 kids under the age of 21. There are another 1,700 between 18-21. Who knows how many adults will act like kids. They say next week have even more kids coming. Whoever books a March cruise and doesn't expect kids on board and complains needs to wake up.[emoji6] In all honesty the 10 top table behind us last night at Giovanni's had louder adults than the kids. I believe at some point last night, during my sleep, I heard on the outside ship speakers a call for someone to report to the front desk. Only one time on a cruise have ever heard this in the cabin at night, but my spider sense is telling me do not be surprised if happens this week. Plans for today are kids club, beach pool and flow rider. I am pretty sure you know who is going where. Kids pool in the afternoon for all and hopefully some balcony relaxation rolled into there. Chops for dinner tonight. Sounds like a great day. Possible periscope of the cabin might be this afternoon. I need to distract those of you at work. Thought of the day: When someone on a cruise says they going to have an afternoon nap, is it a euphemism or are they actually going to have a nap? EDIT: Lisa just woke and said the ship announcement was at 5 this morning. Sounds like kids having fun, but a bit too late. I suspect the rest of that kids cruise might not be as much fun. Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 21, 2016 Author #510 Share Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) I forgot to mention we booked another Harmony cruise last week. We now have 4 on the horizon and that's a great thing. Our first one is November 12th, her first full Caribbean sailing and it will be a kid free one for us. We usually cruise a few times a year, a couple with Owen and one as a couple. It is nice to sometimes rediscover time with each other. Sometimes it is tiring even without Owen, to the point that a nap does come in handy. Anyone game to join in real life? I am thinking live review... Wrunkles Posted March 21, 2016 #511 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for your review. I've really enjoyed it. We will be boarding this weekend and can't wait. How did you find out how many kids? Do they post those stats?

I think I may like the Harmony with no kids.... have to check on that later today..... Enjoy

truffles2 Posted March 21, 2016 #515 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for your review. I've really enjoyed it. We will be boarding this weekend and can't wait. How did you find out how many kids? Do they post those stats? They usually announce it internally during turn-around time. They also often tell how many are Diamond, D+, etc. I guess it is so the crew can "be prepared". Also, you can often find the breakdown of pax in the kitchen statistics.
Ken at the beach Posted March 21, 2016 #516 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Good morning Andrew, We are almost home, a small detour through the rolling hills in Tennessee at 1am that would have been better enjoyed in one of your cars durning the day but nonetheless it was an easy journey. It was a pleasure chatting with yourself, Lisa and Own and thanks again for the tour of deck 17. Check our roll call, I left you a message there as well with a small request. Thanks I'll leave you with a picture of some Canadian food porn.:D. Breakfast.

novalab Posted March 21, 2016 #518 Share Posted March 21, 2016 I'd ask the taxi driver for the Emerald Bay Beach Club. The washrooms were nice and clean, better than the ones at Megans Bay but not as many stalls. For the taxi ride back there were also taxis sitting there waiting to take people. Your driver might drop you off at the Island Beachcomber and you just walk through it and you're at the beach. We then walked a couple hundred yards to get to the Emerald Bay Club. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted March 21, 2016 #523 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for the "tour" ! This was my first time asking a question on there. I guess my timing was bad (tried perhaps 6-8 times) but, since your bed is upstairs: Does it stay good and COLD up there? We like to sleep in the mid-upper 60's. I assume the RLS would be about the same. We've got a large open space in our house, and it's always a bit warmer upstairs there. THANKS, Tom
rkkunk Posted March 21, 2016 #524 Share Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Thanks so much for the cabin crawl! We will be on her in 41 days! So excited! This will be our first time in a suite.(Maybe only time with the prices being what they are) We will be in a GS. Do you guys ever take advantage of ordering from the MDR to your room? We were thinking that might be nice for breakfast and maybe a dinner. Edited March 21, 2016 by rkkunk
Rare Lionesss Posted March 21, 2016 #525 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Just watched the replay of your cabin crawl. Very nice. I am amazed on how close the upstairs bathroom/shower door is to the bed. In a traditional crown loft 1 and 2. There is a little distance to a very small hallway upstairs opposite the make up station / mirror. The door is no where near the bed. Other than that that suite is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy !!!
