Dawn Princess

The list of prohibited items in the Princess online FAQs or in the Passage Contract (including the Australian version) does not mention any hair appliances. In fact at the muster drill/safety lecture you are told that you may use any heating-element electrical appliance in your cabin as long as it has auto shut-off.

So unless you have heard recent reports of Princess deviating from this and confiscating hair straighteners when embarking in Australia, your wife is fine bringing one. Perhaps you should also ask this on the Australia & New Zealand Cruisers board.

Thanks very much for that info,

I have checked the Princess FAQ and did not see it on the list but, its better to ask than get stopped from boarding

Thank you and all the best

You probably would not be stopped from boarding. Most items on the prohibited list would just be confiscated and returned at the end of the cruise.
