Now able to type faster than phone so:

1st pic is Napa Wine Bar looking at Cagney's. 2nd Napa Wine Bar to the right of the bar. 3rd is the carpet right outside Napa Wine Bar. This carpet took a puke hit from a small kid on one of the sea days when it was a bit rough.

This area is also the area that has the strong sewage smell at times. We didn't notice it the first day or two but most days since and last night when we went through there. Today no smell at all so not sure if it is related to moving.

Last picture as pointed out is by Pink's also on deck 6 above the atrium.

Those "phantom" sewer smells are usually from deck (inside floor) drains. These drains have S-traps on them like your sinks and showers at home to keep the smell from backing up. If the drain does not see a lot of water regularly, the A/C can evaporate the water in the trap and the smell will back up. In public spaces, the crew will usually notice and pour some water down the drain. If your cabin does this, its usually the floor drain in the bathroom (gutter by the door), and a glass of water usually fixes it.

I looked at the deck plan, and the Napa wine bar is just forward of the deck 6 main galley, so that might have been a smell from the pulpers (industrial garbage disposals) at the dishwashing stations. They can get a little ripe if there's a back up there.

Thanks Dexddd, sharing these with my Sisters. For those on board in Suites, I got my amenities list from the Concierge today....Are there any wine recommendations? We prefer white and sweeter reds if you have any opinion. Are you able order a bottle of Vodka to have in your room? We are NOT big drinkers but a mixed drink to help us sleep. I really need the sisters to sleep! : )

Any other amenities recommendations I should think about?

Due to Hawaii state liquor laws, there are no bottle sales on POA.

Mid-afternoon here in NY, time for "High Tea" looking at those uploaded pix ... surely looking good. Oops, no butler around here, LOL. Strictly, DIY coffee service.

P.S. thanks for that intel on the HDTV & setup ... Hawaii sailing are port intensive that we barely spend time in the cabin except for sleeping, changing & shower - out the doors at 7 AM each morning, LOL.

I love reading your posts, you are so informative. Your knowledge is very much appreciated. Bummer about the Vodka, the Concierge emailed me the very same thing. Wine it is for us. We don't drink much anyway.

With the room you'll get one Champagne, if you are Platinum you will get a sparking wine. If anyone is Platinum they will get the dinner for two with one bottle of wine for each Platinum in Jefferson's Bistro or La Cucina.

Plus you'll get the 3 bottles of wine/sparking wine with the room.

We went to Bistro last night and had our two Plat. certificates for the 4 of us and we also had the SDP (says UDP on card) and asked to use the dining package but wanted our two bottles of wine (since the Plat. certificate limits you to one app, one entree, one dessert). The person who sat us said no problem and the waiter came over and said problem, we couldn't due to the "accounting" side of things.

I started to argue and he said he would talk to manager and I told him to go do so. He never told us the response and we just ended up ordering that anyway. None of us a fan of the new menu there. Steak was good but tiny and came with thin sliced potatoes that had no flavor and didn't seem cooked.

GW-

The shower took a bit to figure out. In the picture you'll see the left "wing" open and the right one closed. It has three modes - top shower, top shower and the wings - you have to open them, or just the wings. Wings ok not a ton of pressure but the top/head shower great pressure.

On the smaller handle you have the turn on/off. The larger ring behind changes between the modes top/wings. Just below is the temp ring, cold to the right.

I will make sure that the Butler/Steward shows all of us how to use this Rocket Ship of a shower. LOL! Thanks for the update, you are a wealth of information.

Hey stranger! Am very interested to hear the state of affairs as we're the first round out of the drydock starting gate with the Dawn in June. Sounds like I can expect to see "out of order" a lot. Can't wait to see your pix of Hawaii. Take care and hope you have a wonderful time!

Hi there GR - it has been awhile. Say hi to Mr. GR. We were going to book the 6/8 now cancelled sailing and glad we didn't. We booked Paul Gauguin instead. See you are on the 6/17 sailing - have fun - I think it is around your birthday if I recall?

I'm hoping you'll be o.k. The inside of the ship here has been great - very few if any problems with things not done other than the spa which we don't use. Food overall very good and crew great.

Two more days until they disembark and someone can give the full report. As for now, they're busy in port :D:D

Right, busy in port and on ship today. We will have the great coast trip shortly. Have fun on your trip. Ship looks great.

Hey, dexddd - are you going outside/top deck for the sail-by, it's an amazing 360 view - don't miss it & bring the smartphone, digital camera and/or camcorder, etc. How are those red roosters doing in Kauai, still free ranging - I'm sure, LOL.

I read your post about your "experience" doing the LeBistro platinum dinner with the server  - not exactly "outstanding" services - seeing the latest menu posted by someone else on the BA, which is typically the same fleet-wide, I see that they're really streamlined even the sides & doing portion control - it's all good, a little different but "creatively" like the old Cooking Light & Healthy Eating selections  - no ? We are going to book our platinum dinner after we get onboard, hoping for no major changes or further "enhancement" by end of May - but, likely stop by elsewhere for some soup & salad first. Then, we will order hot starter & entree from LB's menu, and take the dessert - do you know if they are still serving complimentary French Press coffee with the LB dinner, on request - or going to charge "extra" for our convenience. (I'm not a big eater but not exactly dieting, but our friends sailing together with us with definitely be hungry with a "petite" steak)

Oh mine, is your POA cruise coming to an end tomorrow - disembarkation is super, super easy ... like coming off an inter-island mega ferry, no immigration & no customs, etc. Enjoy those remaining time onboard !

Good evening, dexddd - thanks for keeping us entertained with updates ... less than 24 hours to go before seeing land, Maui on the horizon & to exercise those sea legs :D

Anything of interest in the comfort food category from the Cadillac Diner ?

While you might not get any chicken at the Maui pier to welcome your arrival, you will definitely come across the descendants of these free ranging red roosters, the feral chickens, often joked as the unofficial bird for the island of Kauai - they are plumb and loud, crowing all day & night - noisy. The population of roosters exceeding that of people living in Kauai, I was told.

Here's a picture for your reference, LOL - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/NCL%20Cruising%20-%20General/DSC00182.JPG

The other tip - if you venture on your own, make a morning pitstop at a nearby McD - checkout the localized breakfast specials - only in Hawaii - served with rice, seriously - I am not kidding.

FYI - here in NY, the arrival of Spring is greeted by "snow" - which has turned into a dud mostly in the city, just a coating on colder surfaces & wet roads overnight - warming up to the 60's by midweek.

Enjoying your evening & doing fine dining, I hope - are there shows during this crossing as I can't imagine not having a casino for some action for much of the week, LOL. With new HDTV installed as mentioned (I think) by Merriem, interactive TV should be rolled out or not ? including PPV selections ?

Gee thanks. Now I gotta try Spam, eggs, and rice. I probably won't like it, but I gotta try it!
