Car hire miami

Evening all. We are cruising on the Wonder to/from Miami in three weeks. We have a night in miami after the cruise before our flight home and we are looking for car hire recomendations.

 

We ideally would like to pick a car up at the port or as near to as possible and keep it overnight dropping off at miami airport the next day.

 

We seem to be having trouble finding a car rental company thats both at the port and airport.

Google "Miami Rental cars"....lots of companies pop up...you can check their websites and see where their offices are...many have more than one drop off/ pick up location!

Enterprise advertises that they will pick you up and take you to their location to do the paperwork on the car, but I don't know if they have a drop off at the airport.

If it were me, I would have 1 person take a taxi up to the airport and rent the car there. That way you have your choice of rental companies and you can get the best deal. The taxi ride is a very simple, short ride from the port to the airport. Maybe you can have the person get off the boat early and get the car situated and then come back for everyone.

 

When we got off the boat in Miami, the taxis were lined up to take us to the airport, meanwhile the shuttles, etc., had people waiting.

You have a couple of options for a car rental.

 

National, Alamo & Thrifty provide a free shuttle to their MIA airport location - show the driver your reservation paperwork.

 

Or you can utilize other rental car companies at the Miami Airport by taking a taxi at a flat fare of $27.00 before tip.
