Dawn out of NOLA currently has balcony rooms for 499 pp for 7 day western caribbean sailings through April 2016.

Great deals, but I know the ship is scheduled for a dry dock soon. What is her condition? Have family who live on the coast and are interested.... Don't want to send family on a ship that is in shambles....

Only on the new ships (Escape, Breakaway, Getaway) can you get the unlimited deals under 30 days in. Those ships are built to accommodate the services. Older ships, like Dawn, you can't do it. The best deal I saw today was $349 with a $50 credit on board. Can't beat that unless you want to travel out of Houston on Jade for $299 for next weekend.

We were on the Dawn recently and had a great cruise. You do see the wear and tear. Deck of our balcony needed to be redone. It looked like something had been ripped off of it. Buttons in elevator are worn. Some stalls in public bathrooms were out of service for the entire trip.

Still a great ship and enjoyed all of the restaurants and buffet. We are booked to go on her again next year. You have to love a cruise out of NOLA. And we were able to walk from our hotel to the ship. Can't do that anywhere else we have sailed out of:D

We just got off the Dawn this morning. Yes there is some wear and tear on the boat (carpet stains, pool stair repaired with tape, scratches on elevator walls). It's nothing that would stop you from having a fantastic trip though. We've now been on Dawn, Epic, and Pearl and the Dawn was definitely our favorite ship.

No mass market cruise line let's its ships get into shambles. I would nto worry about the Dawn at all.

Even though they are scheduled for dry dock in a few weeks there were crew members painting public areas on the ship during our port days. One day they were also taking measurements and creating a template to re-do the teak raised edging around the pool. It seems like they aren't waiting for dry dock to get the renovations started.
