gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1301 Share Posted April 21, 2016 We woke up bright and, early as it is accustomed. I had a rough night with my stomach it was quite sore. I guess drinks and a ton of food will do that to you. Especially after 9 Days. I started working on my files for a little while. Which also reminds me that this is by far the ship that I saw the most people using the internet. Even though you can get even cheaper plans with Carnival. It puzzles why people always have to say something along the lines “You’re on a ship, why use internet? Just unplug and have fun”. People have fun in different ways, and lots of people have it using the internet. In addition to that, there are people who need it for work, and other kind of issues. I guess in a way I wish everyone would mind their own and let people be. Anyway, I worked on my computer for a little while. I also backed up all my information. For those of you are curious about data, I took a total of 32gb worth of pictures during this cruise :D. Not one video! And yes, my laptop is on the floor, LoL :p We were already quite close to home, and sailing quite fast. Mom went to mass, and stayed back in the room and relaxed while she came back. Mom came back rather quickly. The mass was much shorter than the other two. Then we left the room and went to get a nice spot in the solarium. I love Oasis class ships, there is always a lounger in a great area for you. No need to wake up at 5am to hog chairs. No pun intended, well, at least not yet ;-)
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1302 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I went to check the selections on the Solarium Cafe, but again, it was kind of lousy. Look at mom =) I told mom to get us some nice spots by the window and I would go get us some food from the Park Cafe. Friday!!!!! Oh No!! The one day that never left my head was Saturday, disembarkation day =(
lindy sails Posted April 21, 2016 #1303 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Awesome review Gambee and loved the all gorgeous photos! It made me think it was time to book the Allure or Oasis again -they are both incredible ships. My fav spot to enjoy sea days is the Solarium Bar deck port side loved feeling the ocean breeze while lounging in the sun. Quick access to the bar and a few steps down to the solarium pool. The solarium was too enclosed and warm for me. When I was on the Getaway we boarded late in the day and walked directly to passenger services and purchased our Vibe passes. It's a pretty big area with lots of cushioned chairs. We enjoyed it and the bar service was great. I wanted to congratulate you on your acceptance to the PT PhD program. That is quite an accomplishment! Good luck to you and looking forward to your next cruise. Thanks for taking us along! Linda
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1304 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Those statues are really neat. I will admit that at some time I have considered getting a central park balcony, it would be lovely with the classical music and whatnot. But mom loves the ocean, I will never take that away from her. As long as it's within my financial power she will get it =) It was still nice and quiet in there. Like I said they only had plain bagels left.
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1305 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I got the same order that we usually got. Thank God they had not ran out of cream cheese and prosciutto, LoL.
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1306 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I took my food and head to the Solarium. Some more art. Back @ the solarium mom got us great seats. We were both happy with tasty food and an amazing view.
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1307 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I had my breakfast and quickly realized that I had not taken a single photo with a fisheye lens. Usually I have a ton of wide lens pics from the GoPro, but since the housing broke on Day 1, I had none. I went back to the room and my fisheye lens. Just look at that! I love this lens because it gives you a unique perspective about spaces. It is just a pain to use because it is a manual lens. gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1308 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I went back to the solarium. Mind you it was around 9:40! Can you believe this? I love the O class! Some more relaxing was in order. Mom said she would leave to go to the bathroom and disappeared for almost an hour... I got all paranoid, then tells me she was in the flow rider. It is beyond me how people let their children run loose around a cruise ship. I guess to each their own, although had she told me she was going walking instead than to the bathroom I would not have freaked out. I was actually able to stream some video with the slower connection. But the loading time took forever and the quality was really bad. I do not recommend it. If you plan on streaming go ahead and pay more for the more expensive one. I usually load about 60gb worth of video shows and movies on my phone, so I needed not to worry about that. I was just checking on the Bob's Burger from the past week. In the end, I decided to wait until I reached dry land.
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1309 Share Posted April 21, 2016 After mom appeared I went to get some pics with the fisheye lens. How cool is this one!?!? Time around 11am
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1310 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Just stop for a minute and think of the thousands of stories that were created during this cruise! Not to mention all the incredible memories =)

gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1316 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Is there anything better in life? Well, maybe... A private ocean cabana in Tahiti! Checklist! One day, mom, one day. I promise you!
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1317 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I went to get a couple of drinks at the main pool bar. It was quite busy there and everyone was waiting to get their drinks. Next thing you know this lady starts pointing towards the Loft suites and telling all the bartenders that she is staying there. I guess she was trying to overpass the line, just because she was a suite passenger . You should have seen her face when the bartender took my order (I placed my card with a couple of bucks under it), and completely ignored her. She was infuriated, and just stormed out of there. In all fairness, I was there way before she arrived, actually many of us were there before her. People will be people... But I know how hard these people work, and compensate them accordingly. Mom got a Miami Vice. I don't usually drink beer, but my stomach was pissed off, so I guess this was the least damage I could do while enjoying my day. Then I went to check out the lunch selection at the Solarium Bistro. Edited April 21, 2016 by gambee
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1318 Share Posted April 21, 2016 With a lousy selection, we weighed our choices. I told mom that we should try the MDR for lunch, she agreed. We went to the room so that I could get my regular zoom lens for the food pics. I have already expressed my dislike for the towel exchange system. In addition, we had an issue with the room exchange, and there were two towels check out that had been turned in already. Just something annoying to deal with, I wish it was more like Celebrity or Disney. You can blame all the mess on me, LoL, mom is really neat. gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1319 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Here we are heading towards the MDR. I told mom to go through Central park, that way I could get some Fisheye pics there.

gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1322 Share Posted April 21, 2016 The dress code, here is extremely lenient, or may I say non-existent. Which is actually a great thing for me! You all know me, although I did not have the towel with me :D
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1323 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Here is the lunch menu. The MDR for lunch has two options, the menu and the buffet section. Service was awful, extremely slow. After waiting over 15 minutes for someone to take our order, and watching all the tables next to us just going to the buffet because they were tired of waiting. We decided to give up and go checkout the buffet options.
gambee Posted April 21, 2016 Author #1324 Share Posted April 21, 2016 This was my plate. I forgot to get mom's. After we sat down and were half way done with our meal the server came and offered us food from the menu. I told him that I wanted the fish enchilada, but I was almost done and did not feel like waiting for it. He told me that he could get quite fast for me. It took about 5 minutes, and it was actually excellent. Albeit, very small.
TxStacey Posted April 21, 2016 #1325 Share Posted April 21, 2016 I am loving your review Gambee! It has taken me several days (at work) to read and catch up with you. You are just adorable and your mom is too! She is such a lucky woman to have you as her son. It is so apparent that you absolutely cherish and adore her! I am sailing on the Harmony out of Barcelona this July and since there aren't any reviews yet, I have been reading about her sisters as much as I can. Now to tackle your Allure review:)! Thanks!!
