weregoingcruising Posted April 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Where is the Summit cruising between 01/07/17 and 04/01/17? I only could find 02/18/17 which were booked on.
meatloafsfan Posted April 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2016 It's chartered. There are a few Jazz cruises and then an 80's cruise in January/February. I didn't check what was scheduled after the 2/18 date (we're booked on that one as well) but they are charters.

dkjretired Posted April 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Its also doing an unusual cruise for next year in late June. She is going North for a ten day cruise doing an overnight in Halifax and then an overnight in Boston on the fourth of July. Couple of port added into the cruise and then back to Bayonne at which point she heads North for a night night cruise and then back to the regular Bermuda cruises. Wife and I are waiting for the good deals with perks to come out on the 10 day as the idea of spending the fourth in Boston on an overnight is quite appealing to us. dannysmom Posted April 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The America's Cup is scheduled for late June 2017 in Bermuda. The Summit's dock at King's Wharf is probably being used for the race. http://www.cupinfo.com/en/americas-cup-2017-dates-and-schedule-detailed-01.php
conquesodor Posted April 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2016 What the heck is a "night bliss cruise"?

Looks interesting but pricey. Might watch this one, too. We enjoyed our first Canada/New England cruise, but would like to do it again with Celebrity. Rare hcat Posted April 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 7, 2016 So with Summit doing mostly charters and Connie leaving Fla..looks like there will be fewer M class options during this period....not sure .where Millie & Infinity will be..
DrivesLikeMario Posted April 8, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2016 We were one of the ones bumped from our cruise. I guess these charters are lucrative for Celebrity or they wouldn't be doing them.
hvsteve1 Posted April 8, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2016 The ten day June 2017 cruise is especially interesting as the ship is in Halifax on July 1 & 2, which is Canada Day and Sunday. This would be during the run of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, which is a massive show at the downtown Metro Centre featuring performers from all over the world. There are, of course, military bands from around Canada and overseas and massed pipes and drums. The show also has a number of variety acts, such as acrobats and gymnasts, singers and a big chorus. Saturday and Sunday would normally be a 2:30 matinee, which should fall well within the time the ship is in port. Halifax is fairly small and nothing in town is far from the ship terminal. Also, there are typically free noontime performances around town put on by participants in the tattoo. This is the largest arena show in the world and second in size only to the famous Edinburgh Tattoo. For info:http://www.nstattoo.ca There is a big Canada Day parade in the morning, featuring bands from the Tattoo. That night there will be fireworks at the riverfront. And, of course there is the Boston overnight on July 4 and 5 with all the celebrations and fireworks there.
jewlrybabe Posted April 8, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) We are on the 5 day Southern Caribbean departing SJU 3/27/2017. I don't think it is anything special. Just wanted to help update the "list". Edited April 8, 2016 by jewlrybabe
