chicagopaul Posted April 11, 2016 Author #26 Share Posted April 11, 2016 I flew back from England yesterday and met a wonderful lady on the flight to Chicago, turns out she was heading to Miami to meet up with friends and sail on Silhouette transatlantic and then on into the Med (hope I got the right ship). She was in her 80s and I helped her clear customs and escorted her to her next flight, bless her she was so grateful. It would give me great peace of mind to know she arrived safely. Do you remember her name? I'll do my best to find her!
kandj05 Posted April 11, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Have a great cruise, Paul! Just curious, have you ever eaten at the Oven Grinder in Chicago?
BEAV Posted April 11, 2016 #28 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Bon voyage and enjoy your virgin Transatlantic crossing. We've done a number of them, including on Celebrity. They are simply the best! ;) Don't worry about the age gap. When you're at sea for 8 days straight, us seniors (we're in our 50's) act like 30 year olds. :D:eek::D
stinsowm Posted April 11, 2016 #29 Share Posted April 11, 2016 You guys have a great cruise! I always enjoy your posts. I have done both east bound and west transatlantic sailings....you will love the at sea days!! Walter

MR_T Posted April 11, 2016 #32 Share Posted April 11, 2016 We are on the TA next week on the Equinox. What is the Ultimate Dining Package? Thanks It's $29pppn and it allows you to eat in any speciality restaurant every night, There are only a few places on sale each cruise so it's recommended to try & book as soon as you get on as I believe it's quite popular... di T Posted April 11, 2016 #34 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Cheers everyone! Edward and I have just boarded the beautiful Silhouette. This is our first transatlantic but our 9th cruise on Celebrity. We are definitely on the younger end of pax at 29 and 33. We just purchased the ultimate dining and premium drink package. The weather in FLL is absolute perfection at 78, sunny and a light breeze. We will get the unlimited internet package so I will update as much as I can and post photos too. With 8 sea days coming up I will have plenty of time to answer any questions about the ship or find out anything you need to know. I'll post menus from all restaurants as well as the bars now that we have unlimited internet. I will also post some videos as well. We've already met some wonderful people on this cruise. I think it will be a great one! Cheers! Hi, we too will be doing our first Transatlantic on the Equinox. We fly out from the UK on Thursday not looking forward to the flight but excited for the cruise. We have sailed loads with Celebrity, looking forward to your posts. chicagopaul Posted April 11, 2016 Author #39 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Good morning from the pool bar. It is currently 9:36am and I'm working on my first screw driver of the day. Last night we ate in lawn club. Great service and food. We had the sausage and pepper pizza, salad, tandoori chicken, shrimp & scallops and filet mignon. We finished with the warm cookie and carrot cake. Great food and service as always. Ordered the steak rare and it came out exactly to my liking. We hit World Class bar and Martini Bar last night. Today when I'm at the bar I'll post the world class drinks we've had. We noticed the art studio is under going some renovations. See photo below. To answer the questions about Bistro on 5, it still exists as Bistro. They still have the daily specials. The staff says that it will change to sushi restaurant either at the start of the next sailing or during THIS sailing. I'll keep you all posted on what happens. The service at Bistro was great. They were quick and food was hot. We sat down around 2pm and there were 6 tables occupied? We will probably eat there again today for lunch or possibly mast grill. Rocky4ever Posted April 11, 2016 #41 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks for taking us along. We'll be on the Silhouette in 33 days for the 2nd time. We would appreciate if you could post the bar menu of World Class bar and the beer selection (especially at Cellar Masters) onboard. Do they have any wheat beers available such as Franziskaner? Winchester Ranger Posted April 11, 2016 #43 Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Do you remember her name? I'll do my best to find her! I do, it's Anne Foard (pronounced "Ford") from Chester - if you do happen to find her, please tell her that Mike sends his best regards and hopes she has a wonderful cruise. Thanks - it's very kind of you to offer. Edited April 11, 2016 by Winchester Ranger

Sandtrap328 Posted April 11, 2016 #45 Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Yes, I am sure you two are among the very youngest passengers on board. Most young folks at 29 and 32 do not have the time or money for such a cruise. You are very fortunate! I enjoyed the Gastropub area for their very good beer selections on the Eclipse a few weeks ago. Also, I really liked the World Class bar where the various Johnny Walkers (except Blue) were on the premium package. Try the Double Black for a slightly smoky treat. Also, at the World Class bar, check out the Bullit Infusions. It is too difficult to explain but is amazing to see. Enjoy the cruise. sailor moon Posted April 11, 2016 #49 Share Posted April 11, 2016 We just got off the ship on Sunday (April 10) and we are having MAJOR withdrawals! We had a S1. 8340 and loved it! I wish we could have taken our butler Alex home with us. Luminae was great and service was top notch. Have fun!
bandp407 Posted April 11, 2016 #50 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Our Veranda cabin and home for the next 13 nights Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk So glad you & Edward have once again taken to the High Seas!! DH & I really enjoy following you on your journeys! The last being the Reflection in Dec. You sailed your first week in a Sky Suite & 2nd I believe in a regular balcony. We were on the Reflection the week you got off. Here we were getting ready for our trip & reading about yours! Sky Suite to an obstructed view balcony- must be somewhat of an adjustment! However, your price was truly a steal for 13nights!! Hard to believe. We are booked to sail the Silhouette next Dec,again in Aqua, & perhaps a 9 night in Dec 2017. Would love to hear feedback on Blu. Silhouette was always a bit less crowded than Reflection & hopefully with Luminae that will continue. Any word on Blue changing their menus? It was rumored they were From your previous posts, I know you are not really interested in the live music/party bands on board. We enjoy our dancing & would love some feedback there as well. It's an area Celebrity truly needs to work on!! However, this cruise may not be a good judge & Dec is a long way off. Also have been reading you can only get promo chips with your OBN in the Casino - even if willing to pay the 5%?? With your amazing rate, I doubt you will have OBN to spend this time around! Wishing you both a fun & relaxing time & calm seas throughout! Enjoy!
