what is the typical evening entertainment on X to Alaska? Such as signing/dance shows, comedian, special vocalist, fetaure movie, cirque type show, etc. and how you would rate the pm entertainment overall. Our family really enjoys the pm entertainment after dinner, so are wondering what X does on an Alaska cruise. We are not really interested in Vegas style stuff. thanks, Elaine

You pretty much can get a mix of all of the above, magician, comedian, vocalist and there are usually the big production shows many of which in the past few years have been cirque themed. I know you mentioned evening entertainment but don't forget the naturalists on Celebrity, they usually give talks while cruising in Alaska and are excellent.

I agree djkretired. Don't miss the naturalist talks ... even though you may not consider them entertainment. If you get lucky enough to have Brent Nixon onboard, I can assure you, you will be entertained.

Also, they have a new production show line that they are rolling out. We missed these on our last cruise but understood that they were incredible shows.

We did see a comedian last time and he was just so so, but others were laughing so not sure if it was him or just us. I thoroughly enjoyed the show Masque that was held in the Grand Foyer area. They also have 70s, 80s and 90s themed parties in the Sky Lounge that are excellent ... a lot audience participation and sure to please.

We always enjoy the newly wed and not so newly wed game. These are your fellow passengers so the show is different every time but with the right host, you will be sure to laugh until it hurts.

They have a movie theater onboard ... kind of fun for a quiet evening if that is to your liking.

I haven't seen a hypnotist onboard recently, but if you catch one of those, the shows are usually pretty darned funny. Again, with audience participation, the show is ever changing.

It is lighter later so we do a lot of sitting out looking at the beautiful scenery. We look for whales and use our binoculars constantly on board and when on excursions in Alaska.

On our Alaska cruises we have not done casino and we spend less time doing the things we'd do on a Caribbean cruise or TA and more time just enjoying the nature.

I will also add that if you sail with Brent Nixon -- go!!! And be out on deck when he suggests. You don't sail Alaska to dance or play bingo. (well you can, but why would you if you can look at the beautiful scenery) You sail Alaska because it's Alaska!

Having said all that, there is the same stuff on an Alaska cruise that there is on other cruises.

No idea re entertainment but we always set our alarm early to enjoy the delights of a new day!

One of the cruises where the size/ amenities/entertainment is really secondary to the cruise...

I am seriously hoping for some decent club/dance music and a DJ

I have yet to see Quasar in action - During our TA cruise last October they closed Quasar the entire cruise -

Really need some of the dance vibe Celebrity are so keen to show in their marketing -

Fingers Xd for a decent modern band and a crackin DJ!

we will have DH, Me, 3 teens + grandma. We enjoy going as a family after dinner to a show or even a movie on deck. I see that there are now movies on deck. We enjoy these on Princess. I will look for how this worked this summer in Alaska.
