Taxi to Coki beach

4 adults wish to travel from the cruiseport to Coki beach and back to the port. An online booking with Viator will cost $30 per person.

Does that seem reasonable?

Has anyone used them?

Also, what is the cost of a taxi roundtrip? Are they reliable?

Any other suggestions?

I agree with the previous poster- we actually jumped on a tour that stopped at Coki and you could stay as long as you wanted and they came every 1/2 hour. Then we also went to the other places on the Hop on Hop off tour. Even a cab is cheaper than $30 pp at the dock. :) Have fun!

nice: Viator is a consolidator. They arrange the tour and add on a finder's fee. A trip to Coki will be cheaper if you keep their fee in your own pocket. ;)

P.S. This is true of the ship's excursions also. You can almost always do them cheaper on your own.

$30 round trip for 4 people? It was $10 per person when we went. So a family if 4 cost $40 each way.

That was $30pp.

Yes nice, you will find many taxis waiting at the dock to take folks to the different beaches, excellent taxi system on both St Thomas and Tortola.

Per person? Then not worth it at all as that costs more.

Yes, tons of availability. They keep the taxi's coming so there is always one coming if one is full.

One note about their system is that they will fill it with people going to different places. So our ride to Coki took 45 minutes going there instead of the 30ish minutes that I had read on here. On the way there, it stopped at a couple other beaches and on the way back it stopped at downtown (which took a few extra minutes to exit the area due to crowds and one way streets).

By the way, we LOVED Coki...absolutely gorgeous beach. The crowds didn't bother us at all since you still had your space.

Lucruise, so happy to hear you had a great tine at Coki. I was so worried for you!

Thanks Ms411. Funny enough we almost had a change of plans last minute as our kids didn't like the fish that they saw in Nassau. But they also wanted some waves (compared with Magens Bay) so we convinced them to give it a try...and it was our favorite beach day.

We have a dive booked with Coki Dive centre at 9 am. The ship arrives at 8, so we plan to be first in line to get off.

Our plan is to get a private taxi to Coki rather than waiting for the safari bus to fill up, so we can get there quicker.

What is the cost of a private taxi from the pier to Coki?

Thanks!!

We just had our third visit to Coki Dive shop of 2016 just last week onboard NCL Escape [emoji106] I've posted a review here and elsewhere about them. Excellent choice! (January on DCL Wonder, March to do our open water certifications, then last week NCL escape)

I don't know private taxi cost bit will say Our's last week combined two stops in red hook with us and we got there about 8:50

The listed rates are for 1 person with a discount for 2 or more. For example, the published rate from town to Coki is $12 for 1 and $9pp for 2 or more. The safari taxis at the dock will obviously want to fill up before leaving the port and will drop folks in Red Hook and at other beaches. So it's easiest to just hop one of the first taxis leaving, and if you are off first thing you'll be fine.
