Newark to Manhatton Pier

Recommended Posts

Is it possible take a ferry from Newark after arriving via air to NCL Manhattan pier?

I think it would be cheaper than a shuttle but really looking at doing this one time in order to view the skylines.

I realize we would probably have to take a cab from EWR to pier then cab from Manhatton side to cruise pier.

There are no ferries from Newark, which is miles from the Hudson River, so you'd have to spend perhaps $50 -$60, maybe more for a taxi to a town on the Hudson with ferry service...all for a 5 to 10 minute ferry ride across the river, and then take another taxi to the cruise pier.

You're going to get a great view of the NY City skyline, as well as of the NJ side when your cruise departs the Manhattan cruise terminal and cruises down the river on its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

You can take an inexpensive airport express bus from EWR to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, which is just a short inexpensive cab ride from the cruise pier.

One possible reason for OP to ask, is a ferry link ??? from Newark In'l Airport (EWR) to NY Waterways ... which is a complicated routing and totally not worth all the trouble, especially with luggage flying on date of sailing ... which most of us don't really recommend (AirTrain - NE Corridor train to Newark Station stop, Path train to Exchange Place, walk to ferry terminal for the 10 minute trip across Lower Manhattan to WFC dock near 9/11 Memorial (nothing to see @ Weehawken terminal, except it's closer to cruise terminal).

Time consuming & cost more than the Airporter bus to Port Authority - and, on the NY side, a taxi or car service ride (or, more exercise walking to the nearest subway to go uptown, then walk 6 or 7+ blocks again) IMO - what's the point of doing it, fingers crossed flight is on time for arrival, quick & easy transfer to pier, check-in and board early as permitted, relax & enjoy the scenic skyline at sailaway ON the ship, ride down the Hudson is 30+ minutes with great views all around from the top decks.

yes, as one could tell from that link

Then why post "Yes" as the first word in your answer? By doing that you're assuming the OP, who isn't familiar with transportation in the area, will be able to deduce that your "yes" really means "no".
