NavyVeteran Posted May 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2016 It depends more on the itinerary than on the ship. I am speaking only about the cruises I have been on and it varies. They will not have a service on embarkation or disembarkation day. They will generally not have a service on a port day. If you will be in port on Sunday, you may be able to find a local church with services. On a longer cruise with Sunday a sea day, they generally have a service. If a passenger volunteers to lead the service, then they will often let him or her do so. Sometimes the cruise director or another member of the crew will lead a service. shredie Posted May 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2016 I think the CD Lee Childers will do a service on any ship he's working. I don't know where he is at the moment, though.
ar1950 Posted May 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2016 Currently on the Coral and Deputy Cruise Director John did interdenominational services last Sunday and again today. He did an exceptional job. If he is on your cruise you will not be disappointed with the service.
GUT2407 Posted May 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2016 I can't think of a Princess cruise I've been on that hasn't had a service of some type, taken either be a member of the CD staff, an officer or a passenger.

PSCSkipper Posted May 9, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2016 It may also depend on the Captain. On our Hawaii cruise last fall, there were non-denominational services on both Sundays led by the Captain who seemed to be really into it. I agree that there would probably not be services on embarkation or debarkation days. Both Sundays on our cruise were sea days.
Friscoonetwo Posted May 9, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2016 Currently on the Coral and Deputy Cruise Director John did interdenominational services last Sunday and again today. He did an exceptional job. This has to be the same John what we had on the Coral a couple of years ago and you are right, he did an exceptional job. if it is the same John, he also led the Princess Pops Chorus. Glad to see he is still with Princess and still doing a great job.
