We want to go on a private excursion to Isle of Capri on Wednesday May 18. Is there any advice on how best to do this or other cruisers we can join for a small private shore excursion?

At tis point, you will need to ask around on the ship. It will be difficult to arrange anything before leaving home

Are you docking in Naples or Salerno?

 

If Naples, it is extremely easy to go to Capri on your own. The ferry/hydrofoil terminal for the ferries is right next to the cruise port -- you can walk there. The ferries leave more or less regularly throughout the morning.

 

Build in enough time in the afternoon to get you safely back. (The trip itself takes nearly an hour.) Best tip is to buy your return ferry tickets as soon as you arrive in Capri to avoid them selling out for the time you want.

 

Unfortunately, a lot of Celebrity cruises port in Salerno rather than Naples. If that is your situation, I have no good advice. :(

Just back. Didnt do Capri but ferry fare RT is 40E. An excursion easily double, not necessary. Just do a search-Capri.com for info.

You could try and leave a message on the "Community Bulletin Board" they are usually located near guest relations or the atrium, check with guest relations to find out where it is.. happy cruising
