Golfing in New Zealand

Recommended Posts

The Rotorua Golf Club course is quite interesting. Just be careful if you have to retrieve a ball that's gone off the fairway - if the ground is steaming, don't go there  ;) :D

I was on the Diamond Princess in March 2016 and stopped off at Mt Maunganui ( Tauranga) and played golf at Omanu Golf Club. I did the following -

Rang up after breakfast and asked for at tee time and to hire a set of clubs. I got one for 12.15pm and there charge was $69 all up. Some balls & tees were in the bag but I took my own ones.

I walked out from the wharf and caught the bus ( which was only about 100 M from the wharf entrance) to the Bayfair mall. This takes about 15 Minutes and costs approx. $3.0. From there the walk to the golf club Is 5 Minutes. I played my round with some local players and had a drink in the clubrooms and went back the same way.

You could get a Taxi either or both ways.

This was all quite easy to do.
