cb at sea Posted May 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2016 You will get AT LEAST the category you booked...know one really knows how they are assigned. Hopefully, waiting will get you something better than you paid for!
casofilia Posted May 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2016 It probably depends on the number of cabins they have available on each type and the Guarantee demand for that type. You may be unlucky and not get your cabin number till you arrive at the pier. Mike
lov2sun Posted May 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2016 If i am understanding, it seems the poster is asking because the daughter, who is a first time cruiser and booked six months after her in the same guarantee and has received assignment but they have not received theirs yet. question being why would those who booked so much later already have an assignment when they don't? what category were they assigned? maybe because you booked so far in advance NCL is holding out for a potential upgraded room category for your assignment? rvsullivan Posted May 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2016 No one on here knows the how and why of how guarantee's work. Two people in the same category can have one assigned today and the other not until you reach the pier. Keep checking in and try not to stress. atomax Posted May 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Perhaps they are trying to impress your daughter, as a newbie to NCL. On both of our first cruises on NCL and Princess, we were upgraded for free from an inside cabin to a balcony (we didn't find out until we checked in). I am convinced that Princess did it because they knew we had been on several NCL cruises in the past and wanted to show us a great time on their ship... Jenjer Posted May 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2016 If your DD has more people in her room than you do that can be why they had to assign her. Even if there are rooms they can not excide the life boat number for that muster station. Its a Guarantee you will get the class you booked or better. Always best to assume you will get the worst cabin on board and sometimes you might luck out. That's why you save money on your room because they can put where ever works for them.
