Activities- Mini golf is mini golf but it's falling apart already. I think the contractor will be doing some warranty work soon as it was not designed for such rugged play...

 

The water slides are a blast. Even the one that people get stuck in..

But the best fun by far is the ropes course.. Nothing says being alive like dangling from a rope on a plank on a moving ship..

 

 

 

It can get a little crowded , go early if you can. Wait is never that bad but it's nice to just cruise through it. Third level is open on port days . There are three zip line areas but most days only two are open. Don't have anything in pockets and closed toes and HEELs. They check this pretty seriously.

Summarizing specialty dining that we tried.

 

First off - waterfront if you can. Temperatures at sea are nice and it is just a perfect way to dine... And yes no smoke smell...

 

 

Teppanyaki - food is typical, not bad but lacks real seasoning. It all depends on the chef, just ask for the guy who sings Journey songs and you have it made...

 

Moderno- Excellent.. If you don't like or eat meat I would skip it. Carnivores delight... Flank steak surprisingly had the best flavor... Even better than fillet and I can't find many that don't love roasted cinnamon pineapple...

Desert was so good had to post it twice..

 

LaCucina- Good Italian food and a nice break from the buffets. Birthdays always make it special...

 

Food Republic- This is the best on the ship. Tons to try and something for everyone. Don't miss this one...

We just went during lunch (twice) and tried a bit of everything. One dish to maybe skip was the scallops as it was just ok but the sushi, Korean tacos, wings, dumplings, steak kabob thingys were all incredibly flavorful.

 

We did not eat in taste, savor or Manhattan on our trip so can't be much help there but I heard a lot of good things about the food being excellent as well.

Loved the Escape so we booked it again, this time in the Haven. You mentioned having a cabana, are the cabanas assigned to certain cabins?

^^. Cabana is really just an oversize lounge chair. It's first come first seat.

There are two of them. I am in one here and if you zoom across you can see the other one on the other side with a canopy . I used the term cabana a bit inaccurately...

But two people can lounge in them quite comfortably.

Sorry to hear Marc the mixologist will be gone but I am sure whomever takes his place will be good.

 

Do you know how early Haven guest can depart (out the garbage elevator)? Not that we want to leave just planning since we have to grab a cab to FLL

Yes Pullman is being used by 18 year old daughter. No complaints she says its like her dorm room. :)

 

 

No chair noise to speak of... Really maybe hear them if we are on the balcony but definitely not a nuisance..

 

No problem getting a chair anywhere in the Haven. The prime spot is up front on the sun deck but a Spanish group seem to have it everyday... I smell a bribe in da Haven...... Anyway I just go stand up there and enjoy the view. But plenty of other places in the sun. I will get some more pics.

 

Pool is 3-4 ft deep...

 

Yes whatever we want Arnie gets.. Chocolate covered berries, sandwich trays , fresh fruit(yuck I get that at home) and we never really ask anymore he just keeps loading is up.

Perchance, did you happen to recall who the casino manager was. Any pictures of the casino as well.

 

 

Unfortunately I did not take any of the casino. It really is pretty spread out. We won a free bottle of champagne in the quarter machine. Other than that we really did not gamble. There was so much to do we never really wanted to do much at the casino. Now if they put slot machines in the Haven then.... :)

 

I have heard that the casino manager is the Haven concierge Adrian's sister. Not sure tho..

Yes dress up was second night but we really did not pay attention.

 

I am not sure I ever saw or heard fireworks... There was a glow party and an 80s party but no fireworks for those....

 

Maybe our fireworks were cancelled due to wind or weather...

The best hot tubs (2) not in the Haven would IMO be up on deck 19. Deck 19 is divided into Vibe, Haven and a public section. Most people don't find it the first couple of days. Not all of the elevators go up that high

We had three hot tubs. Vibe has one and there is a couple near each pool. My guess is 4 but I never went to count to be honest.

We are also booked on the Feb 4th sailing and sailed the same week last year - Norwegian Night Out was moved to Monday as Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday and there are viewing parties throughout the ship. It was great fun!

 

Dressing up or not is your choice. Dress code ranged from casual to gowns. We had specialty dining reservations and most were dressed in the restaurant -- women in cocktail or maxi dresses or nice pants suits; some men in suits, others in sports jackets.

 

Fireworks were discontinued a year or two ago.
