KPfromCT Posted May 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Happy Tuesday, All!!!:D:D We leave in 11 short days for our first Royal cruise on the Oasis. BEYOND excited!!!:D Can someone tell me where the best location is to be while sailing out of FLL? We have no interest in the DreamWorks show....DD is too old for that. While we DO have an Ocean view balcony, apparently we are on the wrong side of the ship... Would like to see the Flow Rider house ( weird, I know ) and the people at the beach on the jetty wishing us a Bon Voyage.... Whenever I watch the webcam it is wall to wall people up there.... Is there anyplace a little less crowded? Thanks in advance!!!
Clarea Posted May 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Deck 14, above the bridge wings. Take the deck 14 port side passenger corridor all the way forward and through a door.
The Grumpus Posted May 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2016 I like the Wipe out Bar area, aft on deck 16. There's a lot is space up there, it usually isn't crowded and there's a bar for refreshments. You can see both sides of the inlet and wave goodbye to America and the webcam. CruisingRoyally Posted May 31, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Deck 14 forward is my preferred location for sail away. The "hidden balconies" were nice also but that point is void given the changes from dry dock.
Pratique Posted May 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2016 I like the Wipe out Bar area, aft on deck 16. There's a lot is space up there, it usually isn't crowded and there's a bar for refreshments. You can see both sides of the inlet and wave goodbye to America and the webcam. I second this.
time4u2go Posted May 31, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Deck 5. You'll be closest to the things you are wanting to see. And it's not crowded at all. And it's in the shade! Edited May 31, 2016 by time4u2go
Bradison Posted May 31, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Deck 5. You'll be closest to the things you are wanting to see. And it's not crowded at all. And it's in the shade! Agreed. After the muster drill we were stuck with hundreds of people on deck 4 wanting to use the elevators to go up. We went through the casino to the back of the ship went up one set of stairs and sat in a deck chair on the aft portion on deck 5. Could see both sides really well as well as the Coast Guard RIB jumping our wake. Very few people were there.
tbmrt Posted May 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Any other bar with view of sea along with music nearby other than Wipeout? Dreamworks not for us either. Although we spend lots of time on our balcony during the cruise, we love the ambiance of sailaway with other cruisers dancing, toasting each other, etc.
atnolan94 Posted May 31, 2016 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2016 I think my butt will be sitting on the balcony of our CLS :D:D

cb at sea Posted May 31, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Sailaway is NOT a fast process! You will have time to roam about, and find your perfect spot. Usually, an open deck is best..that's where the party will be. You can do it on your own balcony, in private..but what fun is that?
murphy4 Posted June 1, 2016 #12 Share Posted June 1, 2016 I like the solarium or out on one of the bridge wings (not sure if that's what they are called)

papaflamingo Posted June 1, 2016 #15 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Port side of the ship. The "view" is on the port side including the "flow rider" house.
Geeocacher Posted June 1, 2016 #16 Share Posted June 1, 2016 If you want to get a picture on the Webcam the location Bob mentions seems to be the best. Sometimes the aft gets covered well and sometimes not, but the people up front almost always get good coverage.
