Probably a silly cabin question

Recommended Posts

Ok, here's the story. I booked an aft balcony (cabin 1400) which I'm reading is basically the size of a JS with an extra large balcony, on Freedom for our family this winter. Got a really good deal with the 1-2-FREE sale. But, now I found an aft junior suite, just a couple doors down on deck 10 for less than $300 more. Would I be crazy not to switch rooms? I've never had a JS before, so I'm not 100% sure what the extra perks are. Help!!

I had an aft junior suite on the Rhapsody for my Alaska cruise in 2014. The cabin was nice, but the balcony was huge!!!! The only perk was that we got expedited boarding, but other than that, it is not considered a "suite" and you don't get the perks that come with a regular suite bookings. If you need extra room, then change, but for me, I would probably keep what I have.

Less than $300 total to upgrade? Absolutely, go for it! The only real perk is double cruise points. Definitely worth it for less than $300.

While 1400 might have a larger footprint than another D cat....it won't have the JS bathroom, with a tub and walk-in closet! A JS is a VERY comfortable way to cruise! Unless you plan on entertaining on the balcony, a JS balcony is ample for 2!

Our kids, who will be 8 & 5 at the time, will be along, so the tub alone may be worth the extra $300! And I have a hard time turning down a bigger bathroom. ;) Thanks for all the input so far everyone!
